If you can get that guy, you go get him and you don't worry about hurt feelings. One of the few moves O has made that I agree with.

Yes. But when you make that offer, you better be dang sure it comes through. Including the Assistant Coach who you are trying to hire.

Also a fair point. It worked out in the sense that the other 2 QBs stayed this time. May not next time.

OK, you've had 5 posts. That's enough. Go learn something about football.

Were you saying that before the 2nd half of the National Championship game?

Not having an on-field Special Teams Coach last season
Then hiring the Shadow Staff guy whose ST's with the Saints were horrible.

Firing D Craig as a WR coach and replacing him with an unproven Mickey Joseph. Creating what is essentially a second WR coaching position for a 73-year-old coach who refuses to recruit because of the aforementioned WR coach that can only recruit. And then giving him a 1-year 450k contract.
Then he keeps the incompetent WR Coach on the staff to recruit and coach TE's. Hey, send MJ to recruit NOLA and keep him away from the practice field. What decent TE would want to come to LSU to be coached by Mickey Joseph? I'd spilt TE coaching duties between Sullivan and Cregg. Sullivan coaches them in receiving and Cregg in blocking. Maybe let MJ assist McMahon with ST's or something.

Promoting a grad assistant with no other coaching experience to LB coach.
DJ was coaching OLB's and Aranda ILB's, but this still makes no sense. Then he hires the same inexperienced coach as the permanent DL coach. The SEC/LSU is no place for "On the job Training." Shite, go out and hire an experienced and proven DL coach.

Offering Tua Tagavoila at the 11th hour when we had two relatively high-caliber QB’s committed.
That was Dameyune Craig. That's one of the reasons he's not here any longer.

The list goes on. Makes me nervous.
You should be nervous. A lot of people are nervous and see the writing on the wall. When you're trying to beat and overtake Alabama, you don't make weak coaching hires like this. You have to bring in the absolute "Cream of the Crop" assistant coaches.

we had no chance of getting Tua, and offering him almost cost us Brennan. Not a smart move by O.

Orgeron's not exactly a guy that thinks in terms of Plan B, C, D. It's another sign of a bad coach.

In his mind he probably never thought that Kiffin would turn him down.

I don’t believe that Craig is the one that offered Tua, because what I heard at the time was that Kiffin told O that he wanted “his” QB if he were to come to LSU. Then, after the offer, neither Craig(who was RC at the time) nor O answered calls from the Brennan’s for two days. It was a very shady situation, and I’m actually glad Kiffin is not here in some ways, because O would be going even more retard than he already is with Lane around.

“From a 2018 member”

I’ve been on this forum since way before Trindon Holiday rob DE was a running gag. I just created a new account to stay anonymous.
