How honest will he be on who gives the Tigers a better chance to win regarding the newly hashed up QB controversy? Yeah Brennan was off to a hot start, but Finley's ceiling is in the stratosphere while Brennan's ceiling is just tall enough for a 7 foot Christmas tree

So in one game against a bad team you have determined that TJ Finley is the answer to all our problems? As soon as Finley has one bad game you're going to be clamoring for Johnson or back to Brennan.

He has already said that when Myles is healthy he is the starter multiple times. There is no controversy.

Myles if healthy is the guy. We know that. The defense is what's suspect not the offense.

He has an NFL caliber arm and has potential to be the second best LSU QB ever, he’s not Danny Etling

I'm not bashing Brennan, and if he comes back and has a Danny Etling-esque type of season where he doesn't really do anything to hurt you but he isn't doing anything to propel you then ok but you're lying to yourself if you don't think Finley possesses much more potential and is a better talent already as a freshman.

Here’s some Truth and this is with a BYE week to simplify and prepare.

LSU's Defense - Stats

LSU Pass Defense
> LSU allows 9.18 YPA Passing
> LSU's opponents (outside of LSU) average 6.47 YPA Passing
> LSU opponents average 142% of their averages against LSU

LSU Rush Defense
> LSU allows 4.78 YPA Rushing
> LSU's opponents (outside of LSU) average 3.49 YPA Rushing
> LSU opponents average 137% of their averages against LSU

Even this past weekend VS a terrible USC

> South Carolina vs AU/FLA/VOLS/VANDY: 6.28 YPA Pass
> South Carolina vs LSU: 10.64 YPA Pass
South Carolina averaged 169% of their YPA passing for the year vs LSU

> South Carolina vs AU/FLA/VOLS/VANDY: 4.25 YPA Rush
> South Carolina vs LSU: 5.83 YPA Rush
South Carolina averaged 137% of their YPA passing for the year vs LSU

It's amazing how people want to make something out of nothing right now.

What did happen is we proved we have a capable backup QB in the event Brennan cant go, or if he starts to struggle on an extended basis have no issue going to a backup QB. This is an asset, not a controversary.

I was watching the game on my DVR last night again and Stevens was at the root of most of the busted plays. Both big runs on USC's first series he was AWOL.

The first play he took the wrong gap and left a huge running lane for Smith.

The second (third actually) play he was the safety on that side of the field and he was looking at a receiver coming across from the opposite side and never saw the running play. Harris met the runner at the goal line so I naturally thought it was his side of the field but he ran all the way across the field to get there. Stevens was still out there following the TE...

A better question is how brutally honest he will be with the defense even though people think they "improved". They really didn't.

This is why I said our best improvement defensively was our 3rd Down conversion rate on offense... TOP was 2:1 for LSU. If we had split 1:1 and did not get a pick 6 and a KO return it would have been much closer.

You might want to go look up Danny’s senior stats vs Joe’s junior stats and stop talking. We played a dogshit Carolina team. Let’s see what he can do on the road at Auburn and probably against Bama before anointing him a savior.

It’s quite comical, Ranters think they know the “ceilings” of two QBs after four games.

Brennan is the guy. He's earned it. Based on what I saw Saturday, I do think Finley has more upside. He was on-time,decently accurate, plenty of zip on the ball, and adds just enough of a run threat to make you honor that. But you don't bench a starting QB bc of an injury. Thats not how you want to run your program. On the positive side of things, LSU has a pretty strong Qb Room. That's a big deal going forward.

What the hell did I just read???

Brennan has thrown for over 300 in all of his first 3 starts. Puts him in rare company. Brennan's only problem is that LSU has one of the worst defenses since the Lou Tepper days to go along with it.

Our fanbase is one of a kind that's for sure. Finley looked great in a scaled down offense where the running game was actually existent. Maybe Brennan's faults have more to do with the play callers than him when he's starting. My only argument in favor of Finley is that the play calls were built off the run game. Implement that same stategy with Brennan and this offense is near unstoppable especially if the OL plays like it did the other night. Brennan is the starter and should be. Just need the play callers to continue running the ball instead of running an elementary version of the run and shoot with Brennan.

And a minimum of 3 TDs per game, 11 in total.
