If they are ok with him helping out with recruiting then they probably put a “no compete” in his buyout.

Get more,

What employer would trust an employee they are firing with their company’s future well-being?

Well seems to me he has went about it professionally. I think he really loves LSU football and knew his time was up. Time to rebuild and not lose everyone to transfer

Sounds like payments so he doesn't package players up, we'll see tomorrow with the new employment agreement.

just curious what are fans expecting the next hire to come in and do? What are the expectations? Obviously winning is the goal but how quick do people expect the wins to come or championships? Will we be screaming fire the coach if hes not there in two or three years and restart again

I'm thinking 9 wins minimum next year, 10 the following, in contention for playoffs 3-4 years.

We all got what we wanted with O being fired, in a clean classy way that makes the university look good, and somehow the entire board is melting anyway

Y'all are a strange bunch lol

I think it was 50 50 on coach O. Even the ones that wanted him gone still gotta admit they got love for him

He agreed to the buyout. It was a mistake.

LSU isn't paying him thst highly to go .500. Combine that with his bachelor's life antics and it was an easy choice.

Do people really think CEOs ‘Relationships’ with a few young women had anything whatsoever to do with his dismissal? I realize its a bad look, PR wise bc they were very young BUT they were all of legal age & obviously wanted CEO 2 “Stir their gumbo”! Add the fact that he was recently divorced & all you’ve got is 2 concerning adults screwing one another, right?

FWIW I don’t think it had anything to do with it. HOWEVER: IF it did I seriously doubt it was even in the top 25 of reasons to dismiss Mr. Orgeron.

It’s amazing how much more professional he was than the Buffoon we had before.
Sounds like the wording of O's letter was part of the overall separation agreement and was written/approved by LSU. First part sounds genuine but the part about expectations the past two seasons mirrors Woodward's letter exactly.

Irrelevant really, same end result.

Sorry for my ignorance, but i thought they agreed to a reduced 12M buyout? What changed it?

For an outsider, what exactly did Orgeron do to be fired? Serious question. I had heard zero rumblings of it until last week. Was he nailing the Dean's wife / daughter, etc?

Coach O was chasing young women instead of coaching football after 2019.

So O has like $17 mil coming his way the next few years. But he is gonna still coach this team the rest of the year?????? So do they come out and play like they did against FLA or are they gonna just going through the motions. I hope these players come out and play with pride the rest of the year. I also hope keeps his spirit up to get this team ready every game.

But I will say this. Ole Miss will dominate LSU this coming week.

Are you really that fricking stupid?

I have all the confidence in the world in Woody's
ability to make an outstanding hire - even while tactfully keeping Tate and his dumb liberal arse at arms length and out of the way.

Thanks for the response. And I truly hope Tiger fans get a coach that gets them back to where they want to be.
