The O we ran in the 4th quarter is the only O we can run until we get a Defensive Line worn down or we block better.

Fast pace, quick hits and let our players make plays in space. This wears down the DL very quickly; makes the occasional deep bawl possible and sets up very nicely for a power running game once the D is gassed.

IMO in the SEC a running QB adds a great dimension to a good running and passing game but you won’t get far if that’s your primary threat. At all.

This is who he was at AZ St

WR recruits will not come here any longer. Maybe thats why Denbrock leans on TEs so heavily. He cant get quality WR corps to stand around while the QB runs around by himself

Why cant yall just support the players we have out there? The coaches have chosen the best players that give us the best chance to be successful. JD was fine when he settled in the 2nd half when he had time he stood in there and delivered some strong accurate throws. Our OL is a huge problem but they putting out the best we have, they just arent good enough. We need to restock. This will not be an instant fix.

I believe this staff will improve our team from week to week but we just maybe lacking in studs in key positions at the moment.

I feel bad for you

FSU went to a 3 man rush and dropped 4 in the EZ all drive long. No SEC team will play us like that

Re watch the game and just concentrate on watching the receivers. Break down each decision he makes when to run. I get they play calling could have been better but JD, even when he had time to throw, often looked to run soon after the ball was snapped. Maybe he can do better but this is his 3rd year of starting.

Like I said, a fast tempo O is required, but either quarterback can do it, and I'd be very quick to pull JD if he kept his run first mentality.

On multiple occasions last night he had it in his head he was running when he had space in the pocket and when his eyes should have been down field as he had open receivers.

That is what I said. They were in safe mode as to not give up the big play.

The last drive the defenders were literally 15 yards off the ball except the DLine

He was running for his life on most plays
NUSS. Would have been sacked over and over

people will look at what JD did and say, he kept us in the game and he did so much with his legs when the line protection broke down.

there were plenty of open WR’s in that game. So much so that had he thrown the ball to the open receivers, more yards would have been gained vs him running the ball.
believe it or not, both are simultaneously true.

Comes down to this for me- if you eliminate some really really stupid player AND coach mistakes, ones you shouldn't do and normally not do, would we have one that game with Daniels looking pretty good?

yep.

Hell, if you just eliminate 1/2 of the special team mistakes- a FG and 1 muff punt and leave one missed PAT and keep 1 muff- and keep all the regular D & O mistakes, we still win.
