The word is many colleges are contacting Nuss. He has choices. And his asking price is twice his current package.
It's difficult for a working man to care any longer.

That’s only a million a year. Actually pretty reasonable.
I wish it wasn’t that way, but it is…pay him and look forward to next year.

For run blocking only. Nuss basically had the best pass blocking OLINE in the country.
The IOL pass block grades were horrific after Dellinger got hurt.

Well, you said above LSU can expect to replace him in the portal did you not? I'm still waiting to see who those are? Tulane's QB has a ton of upside but he was not good against better teams so the question would remain how good he actually is against big time competition. Can he develop into a big time QB? Maybe. It's really hard to say though. There's no way you can look at the guy and say he's an immediate replacement for what Nuss can do at LSU though. He has potential but there's not a single QB right now in the portal that's an obvious replacement for Nuss even if you think better ones will hit it soon.
What stats are not showing for you are things that made defenses pin down easier because LSU had a complete lack of a run game at times with a QB that's not scaring them with their legs yet he still put up some really good numbers this year in his first year starting. With a terrible IOL at that. He had a bad OC calling plays, a weak WR group by LSU's standard, non-existent run game at times, and a really bad IOL when Dell got hurt. Is it all their fault? No, absolutely not. He still needs to improve himself but like I said above, when you have bad players around you it's infectious and makes everyone look bad because you press.
Tom Brady would look bad in a game like Florida where Nuss was running for his life.

Aside from one Edge from Nebraska rated as a 94, the highest rating by 247 of any of the current Portal entries is a 93. I would suggest Nuss would be north of a 94.
In contrast, there were 40 recruits rated 93 or higher in 2023. six of them were 99s and 98s.

That easy, huh? LOL, even Burrow and Daniels had a transition year. They were ok, but nothing special in year 1. Anyone we would sign would have to be broken in and developed. You are better to off staying with Nuss after the last 2 QBs showed a big jump from year 1 to 2.

Nuss said he would play in the bowl game no matter what. How much he loves the state and LSU. LSU should give him what he is worth but that doesn’t sound like a guy using “leverage” for another school to me.

They’re talking about Nuss being a top 3 qb in the NFL draft, if he hit the portal he’d be by far the number 1 qb prospect in the portal. It’s a weak qb year.

I’m happy for him….and also want to point out I wasn’t too far off.

I'm still curious who the "better QBs in the portal" are

Very simple answer: There aren't any, and that's a fact.
