Numbers aside, how would you rank LSU's pitching staff entering season's end?

For me:

1. Lange
2. Poche
3. Newman
4. Bain
5. Bugg
6. Latz
7. Valek
8. Gilbert
7. Stallings
9. Smith
10. Norman
11. Reynolds
12. Devall
13. McKay
14. Strall
15. Bush
16. Breaux

Cartwright is the only injury I'm aware of. This is only my opinion based on the eye test.
Who ya got?

Lange, Poche, Newman, Bugg, Gilbert (from the pen), and Reynolds are the only ones that pitch with any sort of consistency.

Everyone else can be dominant or god-awful from night to night.

Are you related to Austin Bain? Because there is no way in hell he's anywhere near the 4th best pitcher on the staff. He's been one of the most inconsistent on the team this year. That's hilarious.

I disagree, I think Bain will show up big this post season.

ETA: He uses that line drive to the face to throw the hot stinky chedda.

Exactly what has given you that inkling? He got 2 meaningful outings since the season ended compared to Reynolds, Stallings, Latz, Bugg, Newman, Gilbert who have all had 3+ and have all excelled for the most part. Austin is the 8th best pitcher on the staff on a good day. Sorry.

Reynolds?!!! He's been the opposite of good against stiff competition! No way he's near the top half. To each his own I guess.

Two resident LSU baseball know it alls plus the newb (this guy) have him in the top half of the staff. Two guys I've hardly seen post about LSU baseball this season have him in the bottom half. I'll take Sirs Josh and El opinions over some "only watch LSU when they're on national TV" guys.

Reynolds became by default the long man often tasked with ridiculous relief assignments after Cartwright went down. There were games at the end of April/beginning of the rally possum era that Reynolds kept us in. Often throwing back to back days, being thrust in a crappy situation, and he didn't do horribly in it. You can't inherit bases loaded no outs and get out of it every time unless you're Harry fricken Houdini himself. Bain has been far worse than Reynolds, couldn't hit the broadside of a bull in his first 9 outings. He's settled down but still gets peppered. 91 with no movement on the FB will do that to you.

Screams of friend or family fishing for opinions of Bain.

Not one single person who has watched any amount of LSU baseball in 2016 would put Bain in the top 5 of the staff. He has just been to inconsistent to borderline bad at times.

Thanks dock. It's uber obvious. You "think he'll show up big time in the post season" when he's been given 3 meaningful innings all season. Haha! Definitely a family member.

I do not know Bain nor have I ever met him. I shook his hand once from the bleachers last year after the final win against ULL at the Box. Yes, you are right I'm not a know it all nor do I claim or aspire to be. It's just a feeling I have so I'll stand by it.

Having Bain at 4 is insane. He honestly shouldn't get any meaningful innings the rest of the way if we can help it.
