also eric reid's amazing interception was that defensive play that gave us the boost to tie the game 6-6

it was Mo Claiborne’s pick that immediately made the difference. We had good field position after that.

So stupid

That was our best offensive game all year.

Like 500 yards and 40 plus on the #3 team in the country

That was JJ’s best performance that year. He even outrushed the entire Arkansas team on one play.

Agreed.

And SFP, the FG kicker excuse is weak. Those were all 40+ and 50 yarders. Not gimmies.

Saban even attempting some of those was idiotic. Kept us in the positive for field position.

It was almost a built in excuse for him. Just blame the idiot kicker.

Yep. The best of the best know that they WILL play for a National Championship if they go with Bama. And Nick has a good eye for lesser-rated Recruits who He can groom to excel.

Will be hard next to impossible to knock Saban from His lofty perch. Near perfection.

i didn't use it as an excuse

i said had Saban gotten those points, it would have been more like 1/9 where he took no chances

then Reid never gets the chance to intercept that ball b/c they wouldn't have to press

Key said he sold about 20 bottles of deer-antler spray to LSU players before the regular-season meeting with Alabama that year.

You should actually read the article you cite.

quote:

However, a professor at Johns Hopkins University told the Baltimore Sun that, despite SWATS' claims, there isn't an acceptable scientific way that IGF-1 can be effectively delivered orally.

"If there were, a lot of people would be happy that they don't need to get shots anymore," Dr. Roberto Salvatori told the newspaper. "It's just simply not possible for it to come from a spray."

Key said he sold about 20 bottles of deer-antler spray to LSU players before the regular-season meeting with Alabama that year. Key said he has also provided healing hologram "chips," which are stuck to the body, to Auburn players during their national-championship season and this past season sold healing "bands" to players at Ole Miss and Georgia.

SI reported that the Alabama coaching staff was unaware of the meetings in the hotel room.

Maybe you should just invest more money in renting billboards? That should make you feel better.

It’s not Bama’s recruiting. The 4-5 stars WANT to go to Bama. Bama just screens out the ones they want.
I agree. Saban has achieved celebrity status. He can now recruit nationally. I reminds me of the old Notre Dame teams. They recruited nationally, but they had admission standards the SEC and other conferences didn't have.

Alabama is determined to be number one and they will not deny their program anything legal to get there. I don't think Louisiana has the willpower to spend that kind of money on coaching, facilities, recruiting, scouting (high school and opponents), and the "legal" things they seem to always be accused of, such as house sitting, cars, jobs for parents etc.

I agree.. it's not the Saban coaching, its his ability to recruit #1 class each year. If coach O can keep our 5 stars home.. we have a chance to win.. If we were in the East division, we would be playing Bama in the SEC CG.

I have never witnessed the dominance that Alabama has shown over the past 12 years.
Whatever they are doing is better than anyone else.

I don’t think LSU will win anymore conference titles until Saban leaves. I know it sounds like jealousy but every year LSU cannot compete with Alabama. There doesn’t seem to be joy going into a season when the big bully is taking your lunch money everyday and you can’t do anything about it.

this is a lie we looked like total horse shite against UGA, too that offense went through periods of suck until a big defensive or ST play got our energy level to the max. then once the other team was emotionally demoralized, we ran up stats on them

This is also why when anyone tried to say 2011 LSU was one of the greatest teams ever or the greatest LSU team ever they are completely full of shite. 2003 LSU would have beat them the same way in a bowl game and 2007 would have won as well. You can't be 1 dimensional and have a QB that can't throw and expect to beat great teams.

But on 11/5 we had some plays, moved the ball, didn’t get straight up violated by their DL. 1/9 was undeniably different.

That's because Saban spent another month on top of the 2 weeks he had already spent gameplanning for our offense that jackass Les Miles thought was good enough in the first game to just run the same shite again, when it didn't work the first time.

Saban ran the same offense too.

Is he a jackass?

during 2011 at the height of the hype, i made a thread saying 2006 LSU > 2011 LSU

while 2011 had a slightly better defense, it became irrelevant with how bad 2011's offense was. 2006 had more than enough D to compete and the 2006 offensive advantage was much better

The best post I've seen. Ask yourself why none of Saban's teams at LSU or Michigan State, or as pointed out his initial years at Alabama, were this dominant. I had forgotten that his buddy Emmert came into the picture about the time this change occurred. Saban has clearly decided that the end justifies the means (not surprisingly - great coach, but more importantly an extreme narcissist) to get the record for wins, and Emmert is complicit in helping him do it. I still predict that the day Emmert steps down, Nicky won't be far behind, because the next guy just might start looking into his "process".

Yeah, not to mention that not playing anyone allows you to save the majority of your playbook and remain fresh. They kept mentioning all the 'wrinkles' Bama saved 'just for us'. Pretty great luxury to have while we're pulling out all the stops to beat teams throughout the year.

Let's not act as LSU has been far behind. The difference between 1 and 10 is minimal
