I still want to know how you feel now that we are an average program.
If LSU is an average program, what does that say about the rest of the conference or college football in general since we may finish in the top 10 for the 4th time in 5 years.

You're leaving out the fact that they struggled to beat two mediocre/horrible teams (UGA/MSU), and needed OT to beat ARKY at home.

Despite the record, that is not "elite".

Not saying I agree with OP (I don't), but you MUST look at more than the record and the rankings if you're going to talk about a team being elite or not...IMO.

we ARE an elite program. if you can remember back one whole year then you would remember that we had one of the best recruiting classes in school history along with a exceptionally strong class coming in 2011. We play in the strongest conference in the league. We WILL have off years. Sometimes we may have 4 in a row, but if fricking moronic fans like you would get your head out of your arse you would realize that we are in a recruiting hot bed and the program has developed into a powerhouse. Our facilities are top notch and we are producing large amounts of nfl talent. Miles may not be the answer but the program will prosper.

Just an FYI I feel the same way you do. And if anything, I can't stand the blind homer LSU fans that are unrealistic. They laugh at the ULL and Tulane fans and have laughed in the past at Ole Miss and Arkansas fans for being that way, but turn right around and do the same thing with LSU - hypocrites.

To be cocky about LSU right now is unrealistic. And I freaking hate that. I miss the days of being overly confident no matter what LSU's record is or where they're ranked. Hell, we can't even be cocky about Louisiana Tech anymore.

We were the only team in the SEC not named Alabama or Florida that finished with a winning record in conference play. This is average?

I love how because you say we're average, that automatically makes it true. You make think you're the only one that's right, but this mentality is only making you look more stupid. You're welcome back here on earth with the rest of us anytime you want.

You are right, it didn't mean anything in terms of the final SEC standings or bowl but I think the loss will help our coaching staff become better at clock management as seen in the Arkansas game.

Please, just define "elite" so we can understand your point of view.

The Rams and the Redskins. You must think the Saints suck.

We are talking about 2 different things here. LSU struggling on offense because the OL is not up to par....yet still winning is not a sign that the program is stepping back. It's a sign that they had an off year. Florida was 8-5 2 years ago.

We can't have it both ways. Everyone says the SEC is the BEST. Then we say we haven't beat anyone. Which is is?

We are probably above average in our conference, though how we progress/decline relative to Auburn/UGA/Ole Miss/UT next year will make that picture clearer. I'm not terribly concerned with how LSU compares to Tulsa or ECU.

You guys are all missing the point.
That you are all so comfortable with a 3-loss year in which our best win was against 7-5 Auburn is a good illustration of where we stand right now.
Just wondering if y'all realize it.

Lsu has not fallen "back to the pack". Every team in the West except Bama would trade their team for Lsu's team in a heartbeat.

I'm going to keep asking the question until you answer it. What, in your opinion, defines "elite."?

It's a simple question.

Winning your conference more than once in 5 years would probably be a minimum requirement.

"elite" is a program with top notch facilities, players, and fanbase. Also a program which pays coaches 4 million.

So by your own definition, has nothing to do with wins and losses, rankings, bowls.

UGA 7-5 (4-4)
Everyone else 7-5 (3-5) or worse

Probably? Make up your mind. First we're average, now probably above average...
