This guy never signed an NBA contract of any sort.

He played in the summer league and had an agreement on an exhibit 10 contract.

Sounds like he had to enroll and thinks he’s hedging his bets on getting eligibility but the intra-conference transfer rule holding up.

Reasonable to try and win 1 lawsuit instead of 2

Is that the one with the Kentucky judge though? Haha

But the 91 G league internationals can get millions then enroll in college at 25 years of age and get 5 for 5

He did not sign an Exhibit 10 or any other NBA-related contract.

This is clearly what he’s doing. It was obvious that what triggered Sankey was the Ole Miss kids transferring to LSU. He and the SEC will likely continue to fight to be able to enforce that rule. Not that that particular rule is necessarily special, but in order to be able to enforce ANY of their rules moving forward. I don’t see it holding up, especially because they would be following their HC, and I can’t see that being prevented for a player’s 5th year.

It may wind up being written as an exception. Though that could open more suits. But I think Sankey and the SEC have backed themselves into a corner where they’re having to fight just to maintain whatever semblance of power they can. I’m not sure they can afford to concede anything at this point.

Trying to

Makes you sound like an idiot

The guy got paid to play games for an NBA organization. Had an agent negotiate a contract with said organization.

If that doesn’t make them a “professional” then nothing will.

It’s why Sankey will look like an idiot on the stand
