If Hawthorn was a horse, the humane thing to do would have been to shoot him around 2 decades ago.

He is awful.

Wrong conclusion! Some of us just know the difference between a sacrifice and a Fielder' s Choice or a completed pass and an interception. Poor ole JH often doesn't know the difference.

I hate how he says "MAC-mullin" when pronouncing McMullin.

Being forced to listen to him is almost as bad as being forced to follow the in game thread.

You must be from Illixandria. Were you a fan of Charles Illixander?

No, you're fricking retarded if you can't follow Jim Hawthorne. You probably have ADD or a terrible memory. Must be hell for you reading a book with small letters.

Have you watched them play on tv? Have you heard how terrible the announcers are?

Go to the in game thread if you need to know the score

Jim Hawthorne is terrible; I refuse to listen to any LSU sporting event on the radio because of him. When things are going well he's okay, but the minute things start getting dicey, he goes into to complete catastrophe mode and creates a miserable listening experience. I wish we had somebody like Jim Henderson announcing our games.

I listen to JH many times, even if the baseball game is on TV. I know that he loves LSU, and is very passionate about whether we win or lose. For that reason he is not always objective about what he sees, and defends his team. He sometimes prematurely calls a non catch, a catch etc.. He is far from perfect I agree. But on cool fall afternoon or evening when I'm sitting by a camp fire on hunting trips, I love hearing him broadcast football games, he is the voice of the tigers to me and I like him.

I'm 51 years old, and grew up listening to games on the radio with my dad when Ferguson was the voice, he was a great 1.

Why you gotta make fun of Charlie? Dude is invaluable for his lsu sports knowledge.
Hawthorne is more Turrible at baseball than football. I'd rather refresh the game thread here than listen to his warning-track and foul home runs

There's a drive wayyyyy back to centerfield. Centerfielder racing up to make the catch and drops in for a bloop single.

Haha early in the tournament he completely blew a call and spent 45 seconds explaining his mistake.

The thing I do like about Jim is his voice. The holy cow comment and his passion for LSU. I do hear the excitement in his voice. I just hope the next guy is not less exciting.
