Not just that. There was a thread that got whacked about a week ago by someone claiming they know him. He said Divinity is for sure gone. There is definitely smoke. He should stay but I think he is gone.

Man i dont understand this either...our kids are just wanting to get drafted...We need to really advise these kids to want to be the best...im sorry but knowing im not a first round draft pick would eat me alive and would make me want to work harder...seems like these kids just want to get drafted to say they did...Divinity had 2 ok years..yes this one was better than last year but still would be surprised of him leaving

Remember losing Nevis, Sheppard, and Peterson after 2010, seemingly stripping all three levels of the defense of their best players.

The 2011 defense came out and devoured every team they faced even without those guys.

Players like Brockers, Minter, and Mathieu/Claiborne stepped up to replace those greats and we were even better.

Look at Shelvin, Philips/Queen, Stingley and there is absolutely potential to do the same thing next year.

With playmakers like Delpit, Chaisson, and Stevens coming back and several high profile recruits and even some experienced unsung leaders like Harris and Divinity a la Taylor and Brooks, there is nothing that makes me doubt that Aranda will have this unit feasting again in 2019 with a better offense to rely on.

The 2011 team spent the offseason prepping for a huge showdown with #3 Oregon and it prepared them to run through the entire schedule.

The game against UT should do the same thing for 2019.

Bro, fulton isnt even on anyones board. There is no way he leaves this year. You are funny guy

Fulton is absolutely draftable, even with the injury. He was studly this season.

I think (hope) he realizes that coming back and replicating this year's success could bring him from mid round pick to a first round pick. He has that kind of potential.

Without a doubt. Fulton is a special corner and will be a shut down player should he return.

That’s interesting. In November you told me we couldn’t get a boost from returning players if we lost Greddy & Devin

Let’s check the tape on that, Les.

Full posts, no stalker snippets, TIA

ETA: Here is a thread I started on 11/13

Is 2019 the year?

quote:

Burrow back with an OL that should finally be matured and cohesive. Last years great WR class prepared to step up, and now the backfield being reloaded.

That matches up with another Aranda D that, while we may lose a couple of elite NFL guys at LB and corner, we bring back Delpit, great young talent at LB and DB, plus Chaisson returns.

If the DL juniors return the DL will be solid, and another specific big recruit could make that unit a real strength finally.

Need to replace Tracy, but other than that how is this team, which looks poised to win 10 and make the NY6, not set up for the CFP run we’ve been waiting for?

Year 3.5 and O has honestly put himself in as good a position as he may ever find himself from a personnel standpoint.

Fulton and Lawrence should stay.

White should leave.

Fulton could possibly work his way into the late 1st or 2nd round next year. I think Lawrence would be 5th or later this year.

Both could improve that by staying.

Tigerbaitlawyer also confirmed the Divinity news yesterday. Said staff is trying to change his mind. Damien Lewis as well. I asked specifically if any others and those were the only 2 mentioned. Didn't ask about Lawrence or Fulton specifically

This is were we lose to Bama...Bama keeps these types of players easy...im still confused as to how they keep players that are better than these guys for another year...Fulton and Lawrence have been good at times but would increase there value coming back...Fulton has had one year and not even a complete year due to injury...this is foolish to say he leaves with NFL only having a few games to see..i really wonder who is advising these kids

That's because LSU has become a place where players come to get ready for the NFL. Les Miles created that climate back in 2012 by boasting that the Tigers sent more players to the NFL than any other program. He recruited that way his last few years....."Come to LSU and I'll get you to the NFL in three years...." You can't win championships that way.

Lawrence would be a fool to leave. He is on the brink of becoming a first rounder. Go to town in conditioning and the gym next year, ball out and he will be a top 15 pick. Leave this year and I don’t see him going before the third round.

Me

the play of guys like Divinity , Phillips & Vincent will really boost this unit next year.

You

The play of those guys will “boost” this unit?

As in, make it better than this year?

Or be the best aspect of next year’s unit?

Because I definitely don’t see us getting a “boost” from replacing the play of DW and Greedy with anyone on next year’s roster.

But all of a sudden you think this unit can be better lol you fool

I’m worried all three will leave. White I expect to. Fulton and Lawrence really worry me. With them next year defense could be special. Without them, we will need some young guys to really step up

White is the only one who should leave. Fulton played well but he has limited film only playing one year and would do himself a huge disservice by leaving. Guy could be a first rounder next year as opposed to a third rounder or so this year. He also had surgery and clearly won’t be in optimal condition for the combine or workouts which is crucial if leaving after only playing one year.

Lawrence matched his sack total for the past three years in one game (That’s two sacks). That’s not a good statistic. He does not consistently get pressure or cause disruption on the QB. He is late rounder if he leaves. He played his best game in three years yesterday and should build on that. At 6’3 317 lbs I hope he drops to like 290 -295, which is still plenty of size for a DE. Quinnen Williams the NG is 6’4 and only 295. Buggs is 6’5 and only 286. Those guys are quick and explosive. Think he would really benefit being faster and more explosive off the edge and would greatly increase his draft stock if he wants to stay a DE. If not he will be a defensive tackle at his height and weight.

Divinity played well this year but is just getting an opportunity. He’s a late rounder at best but more likely an UDFA. These guys don’t get how hard it is to make a squad under those conditions. If he comes back he gets a full season as a starter along with his experience gained this year. He comes back and plays a full season next year with even a little bit of improvement and he could easily be a 2-3 round prospect with a pretty much guaranteed roster spot.

This is where O needs to recruit these guys into staying just like Saban does.

Look Lawrence had a good game yesterday against a over matched OL. The NFL looks at the whole body of work. Alexander didn't help his knees by not playing in the bowl game and Lawrence didn't help his stock by playing UCF. Lawrence needs one more year to show that he can be a first or second rounder. I watched Lawrence yesterday the man has talent and uses his hands very well but if he leaves this year he is a third to fifth rounder just like Godeaux was a few years ago. Stay one more year and he could be a first or second rounder. Fulton and divinity should stay also.

White is probably gone. I’m sure he wants to come back but I just don’t see how anybody risks a top 10 draft pick.

Fulton and Lawrence should both come back. They are both late round picks at best.

The Divinity stuff is based on a comment he made yesterday

there has been rumors well before that comment. recruiting board has believed he may leave for 2 weeks now.

players with kids are VERY likely to leave early in order to cash in.

Divinity becomes a top linebacker in the nation if he stays. He is just in Devin White's shadow this year. Next year could be special and he could become a highly sought linebacker by the NFL if he stays. Unfortunately our luck at LSU hasn't been good for returning these guys.
