Talk about a prime example of arguing virtue among whores!
Personally, I believe in scoreboards and what they record. Nov 5th LSU 9 - Bama 6. 9>6 - LSU won. OT be damned, 9>6, end of story.
Jan 9th Bama 21 - LSU 0, 21>0 Bama wins, again, end of story.
Miles versus Saban, both win a lot, both seem to have the knack for getting to game where all the marbles are on the line, both have put together staffs that are recruiting machines, and both are apparently tremendous closers judging from the talent they put on the field. While I admit that I favor Saban a bit, I could be happy with Miles as well.

Personally I think it would have been beneficial to give Mett as much playing time as possible when JJ was out.
Or in the Kentucky, Florida, & Tennessee games too. I mean, if JJ had really only practiced with the team one time in 5 weeks leading up to the UK game, I really don't see what he was doing in the game. Exactly how JJ was practicing during that time span is another mystery we'll probably never know.

LSU's offense EARNED 3 points in the first game.
The defense got them 3 points and then again defense got it for them in OT IMO, by shutting down any shot Bama had to score.
In the end, Mile gets way too much praise for a game where his "side of the ball" did jack shite save for one fluke play on the pass to Shepard.

Miles has been winning more with talent and luck than X's and O's,at the end of the day winning is what matters but,on the grandest stage X's and O's was the difference.

This is where I have a problem with some of you. Yall do whatever you can to dissect an downplay wins when you hate the coach. I couldn't live like this. This whole thread there are people not explaining and celebrating why LSU won on Novermber 5th, but defending why Alabama lost on the 5th. You have to be miserable.
To hate a coach so much that you downgrade their accomplishments, it is beyond pathetic.
Miles get too much credit for the first game?
We lost the other night. Got thoroughly out coached. But it isn't the end of the world. This team will be back. This coach is Having the most success of any coach ever at LSU. You should get some perspective.

And yeah, it was clear to every single person with a brain cell who watched that game that Miles was flat out schooled by Saban.
All over the country people are totally agreeing with your statement. Other fanbases say we were screwed by our own coach.

We all know where you stand. You can get Miles nuts out of your mouth at any time but you truly enjoy them.
Calling a coach that coached scared doesn't make him great.
Brian Billick won a freaking superbowl with a horrific offense. He's not considered a great coach for winning the freaking super bowl. His defense was.
Again, outside of ONE drive where LSU got a blown coverage to aid them on 40 yard pass, what did LSU do all game in game 1 again?
LSU won that game because our defense handed the team 3 points to allow it to be tied.
What the NC game showed is how bad a coach Miles is moreso than how good a coach Saban is.
Some of us accept that Les may be the most overrated coach in college football. He's not bad, but he's not great and never will be. Being realistic and accepting what LSU has for a coach doesn't mean people are miserable. It means that we can still support the team while not letting our love for LSU allow us to make stupid claims like "Miles is a great coach" or "Miles outcoached Saban"

Overrated?
If leading your team to
75-18
3 SEC West titles
2 SEC Championships
2 National title Appearances
1 National Title
And also just winning unanimous coach of the year awards. If that is an overrated coach, then I would take that anytime.
You give way too much blame and not enough credit when things are great. You go into each game looking for something to bitch about with miles.
We got schooled Monday. No one is defending that. But to act like miles is a total idiot and we aren't going to get any better is insane. He has put together a strong team and a strong coaching staff. The talent on this team keeps getting stronger. This team just had its first undefeated season in SEC in 53 years. That was brought to us by the head coach also.

And it was a horribly thrown ball too. Any time your WR has to completely stop running and dive back toward the pass when he is 30 yards downfield...well, lets just say even a blind pig can find an acorn every now and then.

This team just had its first undefeated season in SEC play EVER.
Paul Dietzel went undefeated in 1958, winning the sugar bowl against clemson 7-0 for LSU's first poll title.
Inaddition to this, LSU went 7-0-1 in the inagural SEC season (which is technically undefeated).
In addition to this, LSU went 10-0 in 1910.

I, along with many others, have called this from the beginning. "everyone that is praising miles will turn on him and proclaim him "a shitty coach" as soon as he loses". Something along those lines. The rant is more predictable than my wife's cooking...

Yeah, my statement was wrong but 53 years since it happened is a long time.

An idiot would think Nick Saban isn't an awesome coach. What Nick Saban did for the LSU and Alabama program (and very quickly mind you), Les Miles could not do in a lifetime. Les Miles has a winning record with unlimited raw talent at his fingertips(which Texas A&M could hinder in the future). He has made some gutsy and effective calls at times. Let's face it, we have a great football team with him at the helm but he is no Nick Saban. If this championship game didn't prove that, then the word is "DENIAL". As much as I have always loved LSU football, I have lost all respect for the "Mad Hatter" in the way he has treated Jarrett Lee and his family this season. It is what it is, nothing else!!!!

You have all bought the narrative I've read here that the media/ESPN sold for the past two months.
I think it's a lot worse than that. I think often times the rant sets the narrative that ESPN then uses to run down LSU. It really does suck.
