Not to wax nostalgic about the Old South, but the idea of the SEC kicking out LSU…

… while adding Missouri, Oklahoma, Texas, and Texas A&M, just signals to me how much the South has changed. The fact that 15 other schools would just remove Louisiana from their footprint over absolutely nothing except making sure that every school always bows and scrapes for their money while they favor Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee, and now, Texas … it has me feeling a certain kind of way.
Apologize for nothing. This is bigger than football. This is about tyranny.
Remember, we’re named after the Louisiana Tigers:
"Louisiana Tigers" was the nickname of several infantry units of the Confederate States Army from Louisiana during the American Civil War. Originally applied to a specific company, the nickname expanded to a battalion, then to a brigade, and eventually to all Louisianan troops in the Army of Northern Virginia. Although the exact composition of the Louisiana Tigers changed as the war progressed, they developed a reputation as brave but undisciplined shock troops.

Oh yeah, that's what you want to be compared to. Nice.

It didn't go well the last time we seceded.

No one wants us to secede. But, I also don’t want to grovel in the dirt for doing nothing wrong.

More reminiscent of a hundred years or so before that. A bully "government," its storied power fading quickly, demands an unconditional oath of fidelity. The consequences of refusal, expulsion.
Just like then, I hope we dig in our heels, come what may. We'll grow where we're planted.
