Big picture i think the plan was:

Nuss has himself a year, team is successful and makes playoff. He declares.

Swann is your experienced guy who will compete with Underwood and whoever sticks out of Collins/Hurley

Well, Nuss is almost certainly back and Underwood aint coming so the need for Swann probably doesn’t even exist anymore. Interested to see how they manage the position in the coming months.

Transfer portal era. Good backups usually leave to find playing time. Pretty much everything you mentioned happened before the portal era

Poor guy seemed to have trouble with everything from his helmet headset to the number of timeouts he had left.

I have a feeling that if Nuss hadn't returned, we probably would have seen Rickie Collins in the second half. They wouldn't have left Swann out there to throw incompletions the rest of the night.

Didn’t come close to hitting a receiver.

You don’t want to pile on, but don’t lie to make it seem even worse than it was.

He completed a pass. To a receiver.

This explains why they are terrified to let Nuss run the ball.

That is a tough spot to get thrown into though.

You know, some of his poor performance is on the coaches. There should be a stay warm and ready routine on the sidelines. And how could 90,000 people know not to call a TO but him.

You can't call a football game like that.

The coaches aren't telling nuss not to run

Nuss has said himself he has to run when the opportunity presents itself.

Sloan taking 25 seconds to send in a play definitely isn’t on him.

It was a joke dude. I’ve been calling for Nuss to run the ball more since week 1.
