I know, I know, incomplete pass basically gives them a timeout...

but they have 8 in the box expecting the run why not kick a tight end out with a play action fake for an easy pitch and catch for the game winning first down?

Same story different game. When Coach O is up in a tight ball game he gets super conservative and plays scared instead of going for the kill shot. He did it in the bowl game last year, and he did it against A&M.

Ask Ensminger.

After all, he's the best OC in the country, right?

Actually no it would not have given them a timeout. They used all theee of their timeouts and then we had the third down. It would have given them an additional 40 seconds but no timeouts left.

Actually, the halfback pass would have worked wonders on 2nd or 3rd down in last offensive series of regulation.

But had it resulted in an interception, TRant would have gone ape shite crazy.

That's what he meant. An incomplete stops the clock just like a timeout.

Line up in the power I indicating run up the middle, bootleg it, kick out tight end and have a RPO.

LSU has not lined up in the power I in the last 30 years that I am aware of.

Instead of the incomplete pass giving them TO the officials did by replaying that knee called.

Instant replay TO was a killer in the end.

when you need ten yards to win a football game, you GET the ten yards no matter how you have to do it.

Run the clock and let the strength of the team finish the game. That’s Football 101..
They converted 4th and 18(well sorta).

Attempt to gain 4 yards and end the game. It's worth giving them an extra 30 seconds if you don't. The worse thing that could happen is you go to overtime. Throw an interception or fumble and they return it for a TD, oh well, you go to overtime if you can't score after the kickoff with over a minute left and 2 timeouts. Don't complete it and clock stops, oh well, they still have to go 40 yards in a minute and a half with no times outs and score a TD just to send it to overtime. A&M's last 7 possessions before that were turnover on downs, 3 and out, fumble, 3 & out, TD( short feild from Giles), fumble, 3 and out.

I like my chances of holding them whether they are 40 yards out or 80 yards out based on the second half play, that or course assumed we would actually play anything but a prevent 3 man rush.

How dare you question one of the, if not the best OC and the SEC HC of the year candidate. They do no wrong

Have the tight end, who was open most of the night, rub off while burrow rolls out of pocket or play action fakes. They have to take the play action on 3rd and 4. We took a timeout anyway ( stupid), so hiking the ball with a few seconds on the play clock is not much time difference.
We make the pass we win the game. Burrow runs and gets it, we win the game. We come up short, we are where we were anyway.
To not try to gain the first down on a pass is unforgivable. We lost the game right there. We had other chances to win but acted the same way.
4th ot, they kick fg, td will win it. First down inside the 10. You can throw 3 times for the td, or throw it away out of the end zone.
I’ve lost the little regard I had for Orgeron and Ensminger is definitely not going to get it done.

I disagree. The offense did what most coaches would do in that situation. You do realize that everything that could go wrong went wrong when the LSU defense got on the field after we punted right? What if Ensminger calls a pass and we drop it or it gets intercepted? You would be bitching about that also right? We lost. We had chances and had a 99% chance to win but it did not happen. That's football. Call it conservative if you want but it put us in the best position to win by not throwing. If you want to point fingers, point it at Aranda for not putting pressure on Mond when it was 4th and 18 and also on the last play of the game. Then if that don't work for you, put the blame on Delpit for dropping an EASY INTERCEPTION on A&M's last drive after LSU punted. Find something but don't blame coach E on this one.

“ don’t blame coach E on this one”

Isn’t he the LSU OC? Doesn’t he call the LSU plays? Who should we blame when LSU runs the ball three times and fails to get a crucial first down.

In 2016 when Coach O was auditioning for the LSU head coach position he claimed the LSU offense would be pedal to the metal while he was in charge.

That seems to be another broken promise just as I have learned from my mistakes and will hire the best coaches in the country and leave them alone to do their job.

Sweep away all the crap after regulation....all they needed was a first down to salt this away in regulation.

Putrid offense couldn't muster a first down to put the game away. I'm disgusted with the offensive scheme, or lack thereof. Defense played their hearts out but couldn't get a stop.

SE needs to be relieved of duties and they need to go after Kingsbury.
