I guess the chaotic scenarios have a "brand-iron-sizzle-effect," on LSU fans?

Be as it may, really sit and listen to fans' opinions....despite all the success.

You made an excellent point, but didn't your daddy tell you: "You can Phuck up a thousand good deeds, with ONE BAD ONE!!"???

The funny thing is our fans think Miles is the only coach that has ever had shite like this happen. I wouldn't consider all of those ridiculous either.

I saw Harbaugh have a worse clock management problem the same weekend as the Ole Miss incident with the Ravens.

I remember Richt losing a game to Auburn on the one yard line in a similar situation to the Tennessee game. Brown and UT should have lost to Nebraska in the Big 12 championship a couple years ago because of that McCoy roll out.

The SECCG against UGA this past year is not really a big deal in the grand scheme of things. UGA came in with a crazy nothing to lose scheme and every player on the LSU offense was not executing (not just the QB).

Saban got his arse kicked by fricking Utah in the sugar bowl in 2009. I was embarrassed by our offensive preparation for the NCG; however, in the grand scheme of things we played a legit opponent that played a great game.

I am not even a fan of these teams with elite coaches and knew them off the top of my head.

Some of our fans need to keep some things in perspective. Miles has one OOC loss since he has been at LSU (in shitty conditions). He won a NC, a Sugar Bowl, 2 SEC titles, and has another BCSNG appearance. He is also one of the most winningest coaches in America in the best conference in the nation.

IMO the only current coach that has done better at his current university is Saban.

Where'd we get such an outlandish idea? Oh,wait... at least once a season this shite happens under *CLM's watch.

My point was I am not a fan of any of the other teams I mentioned. So I would expect if I followed those teams as I do the Tigers I can create a long list of criticisms.

The Ole Miss event IMO is typically criticized incorrectly. The criticism should have been about the previous delay of a timeout and a couple of questionable called plays (idiot Crowton). This type of instance is pretty common across the board in football. No one is immune. The JJ spike is irrelevant as the previous play was already designed to be the last play which I don't think was a completely horrible assumption. We also got screwed anyways as there should have been more time on the clock due to moving of the chains.

The Tennessee game was stupid and probably the worst of the miscues, but again came about due to mistrust in an incompetent OC. Let's not lose focus as this type of thing is also still common in football.

No coach and team is flawless in these late game situations. I think our fans think that for some reason we are the only program ever affected by poor management by coaches and player execution. That is just false.

I don't know maybe this comes from people believing we should always win and when we lose somebody in our program is always to blame. IMO that is a ridiculous idea.

Thanks to some dbs their Mardi Gras float made the cover of yahoo this morning.

Saban with a Superman shirt on and with Les Miles with a goofball look on his face. If you were an opposing coach would you use this in recruiting?

Hell I would. Do you want to play for this guy? Hell his own fans think he's an idiot!!!

Who cares?

Funny how the success is just "forgotten."

Excellent points Flagg, throughout this thread. You are way ahead of the game compared to most posters. The fact that you are a fan of college football and not just LSU, allows you to evaluate the situation more clearly. I also remember each incident you pointed out and realize these types of things happen every week in college football...and sometimes on Sunday.

I will add a couple more to your examples...Many LSU fans thought Miles screwed up the end of the 2007 Auburn game because ESPN told them so. Miles played it perfectly, although Flynn waited a little too long to snap the ball.

That same season 2007, the great Urban Meyer used horrible clock management in the last 2 minutes. He sat on timeouts when LSU converted the first down inside the 5. He left Tebow basically no time to win.

2007 the great Jim Tressell was huddling with 6 minutes left and down by about 3 touchdowns to LSU.

It happens to all the great coaches...including Saban. Think 2002 Arkansas and 2004 Iowa. Hell it took Saban 3 games and the Georgia game film to figure out how to stop Jordan Jefferson. Those of you that disagree ...go take a look at JJ's career # 's against Alabama going into the title game.

Oh lighten up, just a little fun.
For strong minded grown folks it is a little fun. For a future or current recruit a may be a powerful message. Subliminal messages to someone's mind. Remember the test when the little black girl chose the white doll, cause it was pretty but the black one was ugly. Yep, our recruits are being told Saban is that pretty doll. Sorry I had to take it there.

The only thing that I don't like about this is the way LSU fans have immortalized Saban just as much as Bama fans have......

it's disgusting, really. This going national is just proving that.

Nevermind the records against each other.

Because he waxed us in the championship game, for most that's the last thing they would remember about LSU football.

Is that what Florida st fans remembered about Bobby Bowden and their team when he lost his rematch game to Spurrier by 32 points in 1996 season? I really doubt it.

I think it is how we played those games that stick in everyone's mind.

You lose that way in Ole Miss and you're like, "holy shite, how does that even happen".

It doesn't help it has happened to Miles since he has been here. Hell, in 06 he almost had a similar situation where he tried to call a TO after the INT Landry made...

The on the opposite side, you have Saban and how he loses. He doesn't look like a complete idiot when it happens.

That sticks out in everyone's mind losing the way they did in a NC game, Ole Miss and almost blowing that Tenn game. To have this issue pop up every now and then, maybe people wouldn't remember it much. But Les seems to have at least 1-2 games a year where he just leaves you scratching your head WTF was he thinking? And he doesn't help his persona at all as a cerebral head coach. Just saying.

ULM and UAB would like a word with you. Hell, even Utah might be saying, "Um, remember us?"

It happens to every coach. You haters of the guy just love dumping on him any chance you get.

Let's dismiss the achievements and focus on the not so good moments.

Honestly no. I feel like i would never bash other schools but rather promote my own school. If my sales pitch wasn't good enough without badgering the competition than so be it. I can't even imagine how dogging another school's fanbase would come up naturally in conversation with a recruit.
