I knew we were going to lose when we couldn’t make it in the end zone from 5 yards out on 6 attempts
That was big boy football by FSU and we failed miserably
They knew we didn’t have a pair at that point

Saturday cannot get here fast enough because of the game Sunday...And then you are going to see different players and better results and maybe Nuss throwing a 60Yard Dart in stride with Receiver and then you will ask..."Where was this against FSU"....

Daniels is not comfortable under center. It’s just ridiculous that he hasn’t learned to get comfortable after 5 years as a college QB.

1st of all, if youarent comfortable taking a snap from under center, you have no business being a D1 QB.

But, even if this is the case, put in your backup QB... teach a running back to take snaps, go Wildcat. Preferably a RB with legs stronger than Daniels tweety bird legs.

We run the bama 2 point conversion play almost every time we have a short yardage situation.

This isn't just a Daniels thing because we could've cut it to 2 scores against UGA last year but got stopped on a 4th and 1 deep in UGA territory lined up out of shotgun with Nuss in.

Very few teams ever go under center anymore

Navy does every play, go watch them if that’s what you want to see

I don’t think LSU ran a QB sneak all of last season. I was bitching about it last year too.

This was a huge issue at Notre Dame. Inside the 5 and shotgun.

Get used to it.

Absolutely! Any call at the 1 or less that’s not a QB sneak is a bad call, unless your line is garbage

I think JD is our best option for winning. I don’t think he was ready for this game. Which really shouldn’t be the case for a guy with his experience. I think we came in a little bit too confident. Florida st. Was better than us at the skill positions. I have to think based on the game plan that we thought our online was going to be more dominant. They rode their strengths to build momentum in what turned out to be a blowout.

Not having basic trap and counter off-tackle plays, or multi- tight end heavy sets, or snaps under center is also crazy game planning…

All Denbrock knows is inside zone from the shotgun. And the heaviest formation he has is 11 personnel. Between his play calling and Daniels averaging 7 yards per pass attempt the offense will max out in the first quarter every week like they did against FSU.

I mean, I would think having a short yardage package should be common sense for every OC. But what do I know.

pretty sure we do. we have the victory formation which is pretty close. We ran uptempo on the goal line
not only that, the right side was getting blown off the ball and we had a 6-3 200 pound quarterback. It’s not a good play for this particular offense

I am curious what the odds are that lining up under center and having a QB sneak(with the RB pushing them) you can't get one yard on 4 tries. 2%?

Even if you’re going to stay in the gun. …..maybe 2 TE, extra linemen, or even wildcat are better options then what we did. They had more players at POA than us. Spread them out with more big bodies and make them defend extra gaps.
