Legit question as I’m no baseball expert. Why do we take every first pitch? It’s always a fastball for a strike and we start every at bat 0-1.
I played little league when I was 10 so that’s the extent of my knowledge

It never fails. Every year there are multiple games where people complain that we swing at too many first pitches and others will complain that we take too many.
