Illinois
Georgetown
UNLV

1989-90
Kansas
Notre Dame
UNLV
Loyola Marymount

1990-91
Texas
Arizona

1991-92
Louisville
Duke

The LMU game was just not stop action. Those guys were exhausted after that one as LSU (unlike most teams) decided they were going to run with LMU. If I remember correctly, that was the lead in to the Super Bowl that night (or maybe it was the UNLV game)

The UNLV and LMU games were insanity. Those days of college basketball are gone and sorely missed

LSU beating UNLV in back-to-back years was one of Dale Brown's best regular season accomplishments because that group was scary and phenomenally talented (LSU had phenomenal talent too though obviously). UNLV won 64 games in those two years. LSU beat their national championship team 107-105. And then they went on to beat Duke by 30 in the national championship game.

And in the LMU game which LSU won 148-141, LSU had 6 guys score 25+, including 3 scoring 30+ and CJ scoring 40+. Those were great times and legendary players going at in phenomenal environments.

I was at both UNLV and LMU games. In LMU they scored every 7 seconds. Track meet.

Duke vs LSU was incredible, mostly because Hurley was injured and Grant Hill had to play point.

If the Georgetown game was when Blanton hit a GW at buzzer or close to it, I can tell you exactly where I was and feel the pure joy when the shot went in.

Weren’t the Georgetown and Norte Dame games in the dome? Blanton hit a shot at the buzzer to beat Georgetown?

You may want to check your work on this...

6 players at 25+ would mean at least 150 points.

Here is how it went down:

Jackson 34
Singleton 22
Roberts 21
Shaq 20
Sims 19
Williamson 18
Devall 12

Odd stats from the game:

--LSU only made 4 threes the whole game. LSU was 4-14 shooting 3's...but shot 70% on 2's

--I had forgotten that was Shaq's triple-double. 20 points, 24 rebounds, 12 blocks

--Roberts was 10-10 FG.

--Hank Gathers had 48 points. 29 days later he died.

For Loyola Maramount OT game, watched at home with two of my friends. One of them got so pissed we let it go to OT, he went outside to shoot on my goal and didn’t see any of OT.

I was at the Duke game. Shaq had a monster dunk that had the assembly center going nuts. Laettner hit some late 3's for Duke to win

I was also at the Kansas game. LSU had another guard from Connecticut (?) that played well. West (?) from KU was on fire and Kansas won comfortably

Yes that's him. I just remember one play where the KU guard was dribbling for last shot and Williamson got up on him and was doing like karate chops with his hands. The KU guard didn't take it seriously and Williamson stole the ball from him. I believe Williamson then took it the length of the court for a layup. Not certain on that but for sure I remember the karate chop steal

Haha. That's right. I was on a site that had the minutes and points swapped and I didn't even add it up . It was a shitload of scoring. I think Gathers and Kimble alone combined for 80 pts.

I'm pretty sure Coach K was quoted after the game saying the atmosphere was like a final 4 game

Yep. LSU still has the #2, #3 and #4 largest paid regular-season college basketball attendances of all time for their games against Georgetown, Notre Dame and Texas in the Dome. They held the record for quite while too. Pretty incredible.

LMU's philosophy was that they were willing to give up a layup in exchange for an open three. Obviously didn't work in that game.

I was watching Gaithers closely and he was having trouble catching his breath in play stoppages. Of course he wasn't the only one so maybe it doesn't mean anything, but I thought back to that game when I heard he had died.
