Demps is more of a pure speed guy

Devine can make better cuts

Still...I'm confident LSU can play well against their offense

His big play ability has been diminished by the departure of Pat White at QB and Rich Rodriguez as head coach. White's replacements have not been the big play threats that White was. So defenses do not have to be as respectful of the QB going the distance on the read option plays.

All you have to do is go to a WVU message board and read comments about Stewart's coaching v. Rodriguez. The WVU fans will let you know about the differences in offensive philosophies.

I know he's capable of making big plays. I'm not arguing that. I just don't think that he's the type of player that will put fear in this defense. If he played on a team the caliber of last year's Florida team, then hell yes I'd be worried about him. But he plays on a team with far inferior talent to us IMO

Considering we have a really aggressive defense, if we over pursue, he could burn us

BOOM

luckily Stewart has no idea what hes doing and will probably give him 17 carries.

I watched Bill Stewart display the worst clock management I've ever witnessed in a game before either last year or the year before. This is one of the few games where I doubt the opposing head coach will be a reason LSU loses the game.

Seems like hes been attempting to get him more touches this year though, some games last year I was shocked how many carries he had.

Coach Stew realllly likes to air out instead of giving the best player on the team the ball.

I dont know, I think he's trying to not be predictable. The WR's can make plays if given a chance, but the shotgun draw right play is sometimes painful to watch 13 plays in a row

Right

But my point is a good primary RB on a team that is loaded with talent scares me more than the same guy starting for a better team.

If he had Vince Young lined up in the back field with him I'd say we should be scared to death.

Yes I have

And if he's averaging 4.8 yards a carry against mediocre competition that tells me that the team is lacking in other areas.

i.e. the offensive line must not be shite if that's all he can muster against mediocre talent

If they have a subpar offensive line against our defensive rotation then Noel is going to have problems making an impact.

I'm not saying that Devine sucks. I think he's pretty solid and would probably be getting a lot more hype if he was on a team with a bruising O-line.

I'm just saying that I'm not that worried given his pedestrian stats this year. Something has to be going on there and I'm betting that the offensive line isn't getting it done.

You do realize that every defense this year has pretty much focused only on Devine and dared us to throw the ball because we have a young qb, right? You also realize that 4.8 ypc x 3 > 10 yards, right?

You do realize that LSU probably has the best secondary in the country and when they employ the same tactic that other teams have used it will actually work?

If WVU score more than 20 points, I'll be shocked.
