The no.1 factor determining LSU’s success in 2018 will be turnovers. LSU’s deep and talented DLine should provide for more turnovers, A QB like Burrow who is used to the pressure building around him while passing should limit LSU’s turnovers on offense, it all bodes well for LSU’s season.

Brennan seemed less so last year, taking sacks and Etling got happy feet, was too quick at times to pull the ball in and run. Burrow seems to be just the right fit. Geaux Tigers!!!

Holy shite.... the kid hadn't taking a meaningful collegiate snap in 3 years. He's never had an SEC front 7 teeing off on him for 4 quarters. We really need to relax with the expectations.

How is burrow used to the pressure around him while passing? he has hardly any game experience.

I'll add ST play and RZ scoring TD % goes up to 75% plus. If those 3 areas were improved last season we may have been a playoff team.

This should absolutely be this staffs focus in 2018, knowing that we now have so many holes filled with quality players and depth. It's now many of these guys second year on defense. We have one of the best teaching our WRs and also have a full time ST coach with analyst to support these guys. I think it makes a difference in our success.

Let's do this thing. Strength and conditioning should have been a real focus in the offseason as well. We'll see soon what these changes did for the team. GT

How about strong offensive line play, for a change? This has been missing in the LSU repertoire for a long, long time.

riveting stuff....next thing you'll tell us from the generic bag of team analysis is that special teams will also be key.

Good thing the team is working super hard, right True???

This is absurd. The sample size of Brennan and Burrow is not large enough to equate them as "used to pressure" "too slow" one was a true freshmen last year and the other has never taken a meaningful snap in 3 seasons. The expectations on this kid are unreal.

Nothings absurd, Burrow was taking heat in scrimmages for three years at Ohio St, their defense is certainly not vanilla, it’s SECish.

QBs don't get hit in scrimmages.

It's a fact. I mean every part of a football team is generic, but not so easy to ensure it's competitive and makes a huge difference when it is.

If LSUs STs play, TO% and RZ TD % were up last year we are a playoff team. So if the staff puts a premium on these area's then LSU could beat anyone in the country generic or not.

Burrow could fold like a lawn chair. No one has any idea how this guy is going to fare in the bright lights.

Call me crazy, but turnovers, turnovers, turnovers will decide LSU’s success or failure. In a schedule loaded with talented teams, turnovers will be the main factor.

Feel better about turnovers with LSU’s upgraded DLine and QB, that LSU can come on top in this category.

I'll add that scoring more points than opponents will help.
I know it isn't the #1 factor, but it is pretty important and right up there with ST and RZ scoring percentage.
