Ironically, LSU may be the one school that protected itself from what could be coming since we obviously weren’t participating in a federally illegal attempt at conspiracy.

The SEC’s current legal position is having to explain to a judge as to why it shouldn’t be held in contempt. And that’s against the backdrop of the NCAA and its conferences in a historic losing streak in every court case on all levels.

Somehow nobody told these idiots that they’re not the first people to think they can come up with a cute plane to violate a clear court order. And spoiler alert: courts don’t love when it’s tried.

If discovery shows the SEC, NCAA, schools or conferences coordinated to boycott these players, this could become a massive antitrust case with treble damages, injunctions and people losing their jobs.

And for what? Best case, they stop a handful of guys caught in a one-year eligibility glitch from playing one more season. Worst case, they expose an antitrust conspiracy and create devastating precedent against themselves.

The risk/reward here is insane and mark my words the ADs will try to make Sankey the fall guy for the exact behavior they pressured him to do.

Turtles all the way down.

Going to be even funner if/when discovery shows there was coordination between the SEC and ABC/Disney as to why ESPN is persistently trying to bring this up all day during actual games played during Week 0.

I hope after this post that we can focus on what is happening with the team. I have read nothing about what our team looks like lately. I will say one more thing about this though. I said earlier in the week that LSU’s president was the smartest guy in the room for abstaining. Well, that is exactly what he was. I would encourage everyone to read the Supreme Court case involving NCAA vs Alston. The vote was 9-0! Liberal and conservative justices voted 9-0! I think that it was Kavanaugh that likened the conferences to cartels. He wrote a scathing opinion about it. After reading that decision, I am of the opinion that the NCAA and the conferences have no chance in federal court.

That’s what makes this more insane. We know Kavanagh is just waiting to slam the hammer down and make an example out of a conference acting like a cartel.

Why didn’t the SEC notice that the legal terrain has not been exactly favorable to them before they decided conduct their legal strategy like a meth head.

Again, I don’t see how Sankey survives this. And how did a school like Vanderbilt sign on. They’re supposed to be our smart one
