The best you can hope for is that the state tax is eliminated for everyone. There is NO WAY IN HELL we're gonna be put at a disadvantage in recruiting when our rival's states are eliminating the state tax for NIL.

You can piss, cry, and moan all you want, but this is how it's gonna be.

And please understand I completely see your point, and it's a very valid one. It still won't change anything.

To level playing field with states like Texas and Florida and others that have no state income tax.

Knew this was coming after Ohio passed it. Can’t believe the people in Ohio were for that. Pissses me off that people getting $100,000 + don’t have to pay a penny while we get raped.

Nah. The Legislature isn’t going to pass this. You are sorely mistaken.

This is stupid. If anything they should apply a jock tax of 20% to all NIL money.

Hey guys. Hate break it to most on here, but life isn't fair. I've never seen a bunch of whiny a$$ bitche$. I seriously can't believe what I'm reading.

This is a f*&king arms race. You either compete or you don't. The state of LA not going this route isn't going to change a damn thing on the landscape. The train is headed full steam down the tracks.

So choose to enjoy your life or not, but it's not going change by whether or not some young kid isn't paying taxes because he/she was born differently than most, whether it's better athlete, entitled, better looking, or academically gifted. It's going to change a hell of a lot more by what you decide to do with your own life.

If you think this is anything but a drop in the bucket, or crying on a message board is going to change the inevitable, wake the hell up.

Dixon McMakin was on with Moscona yesterday and said he thinks it will be virtually unopposed in the legislature

Supply and demand. People who can run a 4.4 40 and attract 100,000 people to watch a game paying over $150 per ticket are going to get benefits (which benefits Louisiana on restaurants, hotels, tailgate purchases, etc). The $1.5M list is a pimple in the elephants arse to keep the competitive aspect.

Nobody paying that kind of cash to watch you or me work. Develop skills nobody else can do with a product or service in demand and you get mega wealthy.

I didn’t think I could hate politicians more than I do now but then they do this.

Why does a college athlete not have to pay taxes on their earnings when I do? Makes no sense.

I wish fans had enough balls to boycott the games and stop giving money as this is the only thing that will slow down this runaway train.

It is humorous that states are admitting that no state income tax will incentivize people to move there.

They just only care to incentivize college athletes who leave your state in 4 years or less.

So, I guess a vote in support of this is a vote for higher education?

As crazy as what I'm about to post sounds, it's still true:

People in Louisiana (a rabid college football state) are going to be WAY MORE PISSED if we start sucking hind tit in football than they would be if less than 100 people are being excused from paying taxes in order for us to remain elite.

As ridiculous as those priorities may be, it doesn't change that college football is that important to the state.

dumb AF...so a kid that is 21ish gets 2 million to pay at LSU plus another 250k in benefits for that year and im supposed to be ok with him not paying taxes?

So my after tax donations to NIL goes to pay him and then he doesnt have to pay taxes....frick that.

This isnt the cold war with the fate of the world in the balance. Its college football. Well, used to be.

HOWEVER, the schools we compete against are having their states pass these laws, and if we want to stay competitive, we're gonna have to do it. No matter how much it sucks in theory.
Everybody has to pay more taxes now so *maybe* you can flex on Bama fan next year on tRant? F that. Stop worshipping teenage boys it's embarrassing.

Then I guess we won't compete then. So what? We're talking about a football game. WTF is wrong with some of you?
