Y’all are really putting way too much stock in a scrimmage report

Exactly. Bourreaux ran for his life the entire season. It was his awareness and ability that helped cover up the OL's
weakness. So, basically, LSU has the same OL that has played so crappy as a unit in their careers lined up again this year.
Experience is a plus, but talent is still in question.

It’s a concern, but defenses are usually ahead of offenses early in camp and we replaced our online coach after spring practice.

Let’s all just take a deep breath and see how it goes

Brad Davis has a few practices under him. So nothing is far along at all.

Good thing is, he won’t be married to any alignment. Best guys will play if what they have isn’t working out

That’s such bullshite. The rewriting of history to fit this narrative is hilarious. Go rewatch the season. The oline had some fantastic games that year. Were they perfect every snap of every game? Nope but no line is.

1. It’s the first week of Camp.
2. Defense always shines early, offenses take time to get rolling. This is true at all levels.
3. Don’t take fall camp numbers/results too seriously

*if offense shined, faces would melt Bc the D sucks…

**”Defense is further along than any point last year” I still remember.

Basically, fricking relax.

I understand it was their first scrimmage, but a veteran unit like that shouldn't get dominated like they have been. If we want to get back to the NC level we have to have talented 4/5 star OL players lined up three deep. If you don't perform, go to the back of the line. Currently, we don't have that and we have to go with the best we have, which isn't at an elite level it needs to be at!

It amazes me how fast y’all hit the panic button after a week of practice and ONE scrimmage

Camp has been going on a week.

That D-line is talented and deep, even with Logan out, so it's not a surprise to hear they'd struggle blocking those guys. Shanahan is going to struggle matched up on some of those DTs one on one no matter how far along he is or who the OL coach is.
The guards, those two have some high-level potential. Guards with ability Les Miles never knew he needed. Even the backups have high-level potential there. To me, some of the most interesting matchups in practices/scrimmages would be the DTs against the guards.

You have to develop and work with what you have. Im of the opinion that this team will go as the OL goes. Its not the safeties, the Rb's The LB's or the QB's that concern me more than the OL.
This OL has enough to be a decent SEC group and that just may be enough to keep us in contention until they find their way. I remain hopeful.

Lets see how they do against the Bruins, before we cut them all.

It’s ridiculous that highly hyped recruits like Kardell Thomas and Anthony Bradford have contributed essentially nothing so far in their LSU careers.

If we being honest next years offensive line is gonna be even worse due to the departures after this season. Ingram Decules and Shanahan will all be certainly gone. We can blame James Cregg for his poor evaluations....developments and recruiting.

If you remember they weren’t great in 2019. Joe Burrow and CEH masked a ton of weaknesses.

That and having 4 NFL targets on the perimeter, 5 of you count CEH.

What about the 3 linemen drafted?

This is HILARIOUS considering TAMU is REPLACING 4/5 OLine starters from last season. Do you actually follow other teams?

Yes

That is my point. The new starters at TAMU are better than the veterans at LSU

Next year will probably be worse.

They are going to have to grab a center out the portal. No way in hell chaz turner is going to be the center.

You will be replacing your rt, center, lg, and possibly rg. Lt will probably be new also.

I think bradford will be good next year. I think wire is fine as a swing tackle. You will be counting on dellinger and dumervil as your tackles.

Hill will probably fight for the lg spot.

My guess is they grab 2 players out the portal for o line.
