"Hey Now" is the absolute worst. Terrible. Scrap that garbage. Makes me cringe every single time.

"There's a drive....way back and high.....caught by Nola"
Terrible

I like Blair but his call of last play was bad. He was still talking about Bama player running off field instead of the play itself. All he really said was “caught in corner of endzone” and “hey now”
This is not accurate at all.
I know it starts after the Bama player ran off the field, but he certainly said more than your fictitious description of his call.

I like Blair a lot EXCEPT when he says touchdown Fighting Tigers.
Idk why it annoys me.
I'm with ya. Corny.
"Hey Now" even worse. He's trying to hard to come up with a signature phrase.

I would have liked a third "Tigers Win".

Hawthorn was a electronics guy at a shreveport radio station in 70s. Gordon Finney was the on air person. They had a remote to call a high school basketball game, maybe captain Shreve or something and the other on air person got sick. Gordon said “hey Jim you have good radio voice could you just fill on tonight so I don’t have to do this solo”, he said sure why not, got to be here anyway. (He was technical guy that set up took down equipment etc)
It went great and Gordon said, You are great at this lets keep doing them together, etc Eventually he became the voice of LSU sports totally because some guy was sick or hung over and didn’t show. It was purely by accident. TRUE STORY

Some of us have to remind ourselves that so many haven't had the distinct privilege of hearing the games done by John Ferguson.
A memorable combination of a "top-40" voice with knowledge of the game.
Since his passing, there have been none his equal.

Y'all are some miserable mf'ers.
Chris Blair was professional when he got to LSU, he has made this position his own. I can even hear some uniquely Jim Hawthorne vowel pronunciations in Chris Blair's work, and sometimes have to clear my mind to remind myself it's Blair and not Jim.
I actually like the guy, and am now at the point where I wouldn't want someone else. It's clearly evident he has come to love Baton Rouge and LSU and is doing well to combine some professional objectivity with "homerism" which, to me, is the hallmark of a good SEC play-by-play guy.
I swear, some of you would want Ben Stein, or Eli Gold.
HEY NOW!!

Chris Blair is a professional and I like him, think great hire.
But it feels like Chris Blair learned his reactions in a classroom while Hawthorn was just like “well gee willikers, guess I’m calling the game today”. Which made for some incredibly real reactions.

Fighting Tigers is who we are…love it.
Hey Now is dumb and unnecessary…trying too hard for a signature phrase.

Wouldn’t say Hawthorne was a hack, by any stretch, but it would have been fun to hear John Ferguson make the call. He is still my favorite.

It would have been something like “touchdown!!!! Kayshon boutte!!!”

Blair is good . I'm still not used to Hawthorne gone

I was wondering what screen name you were using these days. lol
You can like Jim’s calls or not, but a hack he wasn’t.
