Yeah, I deleted amateur because it looked douchey after I typed it out. The more I think about it the more I realize how many people I know that fly 91 for a living. I didn’t know that 91 didn’t have minimums to commence. I will say the OP is probably more concerned with 121 operations though.

Wonder if this will affect Trump’s travel plan

Hell no. Fog will be lifted long before then, plus this fog is borderline for commercial flights. I'm in the Heritage Plaza close to the lake, and the horizontal visibility is about 1,000 yards.

The ILS RWY 29 at MSY calls for 1/2 mile horizontal visibility, and I believe they about have that now. Additionally, I'm sure POTUS can get around that rule, and they could land in this easily.

If MSY has a CAT II/III approach it may be close though.
CAT II is 1200’ RVR.

1/16 mile is like 400’ RVR.

No prob. I spent a few years flying corporate jets 91/135. Under 91 I can launch 0/0. Not smart, but legal.

I'm in the ME flying on an Army contract. Hoping for an IDF free kinda night to watch the game.

We are delayed as well at Hobby. Was 1115am, now 1220pm. If we get delayed again, I’m thinking King Air time. Nothing like multiplying your travel cost by 20 .
