Exactly why Utah beats Alabama, UCF beats Auburn, and on and on...

I wish there were only like 10 bowls as there were back in the 1960s --- so playing in a bowl and post season was a Big Deal... with 40 bowls or close -- that is well over have the fricking teams in college football playing in a bowl. That is why the bowls are "meaningless"... not the playoffs.

If it’s a meaningless bowl then why do you asshats have nervous breakdowns about which one LSU is going to play in? If you don’t care and it’s “meaningless “ then why should it matter to the players ??

We had a slim chance at the meaningful bowls (playoffs).

And nobody ever said that some bowls are not more meaningful than others. You’d still rather be in a NY6 bowl than a really crappy bowl. But in the big picture, if it isn’t a playoff bowl, it really doesn’t mean anything

If he is worried, get an insurance policy. Play the game.

That’s a toxic cancerous attitude. Gotta put the team above yourself.

Well is the team gonna pay him millions of dollars if he gets hurt in a meaningless game??

Yeah because screw free education and the incomparable experience of bigtime college sports

Ask any of these kids what they would rather get coming out of high school, an education or a contract for several million. See how many takers there are for education. Lol

Why should he have to spend money on an insurance policy for one game?

So reading thru these posts... sounds like the lean is for players to skip bowl games if they know they're going to head to the NFL.

Good for him, he has earned it and worked his butt off during the regular season.

This mindset is dumb. How is the bowl game any more pointless than the Rice game? Or the Arkansas game? Or any other game for that matter?

Well, if we lose the Arkansas or Rice game, we probably arent playing for the championship. So yea, there is a difference.

Yeah, like you are putting millions at risk.

I am sure he is real concerned with what you or other FANS think. Blame him all the way to the bank.

If getting injured is what these guys are quitting the team for then don't play the game of football.

And no I would never advise my son to quit on his team no matter what his status is. What they can do is tell the coaches to minimize their play in these games if that's what they worried about. Play them at key moments in a game then instead of the full game but his team and this program needs our star power and he's part of that star power.

This is ashame that this college sport has become all about money now. It's sad. Money isn't everything but they'll learn that some day.

You think he should risk it for the fans who have been s******g On the team and coaches all season.

Good luck Greedy, what ever your decision. Thanks for entertaining us for the last two years. You have been a class act. Good luck and hope you have a long successful and enriching pro career.

This is the problem that I have that nobody ever mentions. If it's strictly about getting hurt, why have no players ever left before playoff games or the national championship game? Then it's not about getting hurt, it's able the game isn't IMPORTANT enough. Quit covering for these players!!

Well we know our offense isn’t gonna out score anybody, so if he’s out too, we’re likely staring down a big fat “L” in the bowl game.

Good for him. Meaningless game. I admire the hell out of anyone who plays in the bowl but do not blame anyone who opts out. Could go from being set for life to an everyday 9-5 in one play.

I love Joe Nobody from nowhere land blaming a kid for not risking setting himself and his loved ones up for a much better life over a meaningless exhibition game.

I doubt anyone in that lockeroom is mad at him. The goal is to get to the NFL and get paid as much as possible he trying to ensure that happens.
