Looks like a great pickup and good hire by Alleva.

Now if he can do the same for softball...

So the old coach made 660k and new coach will make 900k and Van will take another 250k in her new position created for him.

Just so long as my TAF fees dont go up a penny due to this Im fine with it.

Nikki Caldwel is an excellent hire

Nikki Caldwell Bio

-Won a national championship as a player and coach at UT
-Studied under one of the best coaches in WBB with Summit
-She won the Pac-10 coach of the year following the 2009-10 season after going 25-9.
- Very young and enthusiastic ,great recruiter
- Not to mention she is preety damn cute
- Turned down a very mediocre UCLA squad into a nationa l power
3 YEARS UNDER HER
Season Team Overall Conference Standing

2008–2009 UCLA 19–12 9–9 T–4th
2009–2010 UCLA 25–9 15–3 2nd
2010–2011 UCLA 27–4 16–2 2nd

You see a steady improvement over the three years , which is great

And Finally she is quite the looker!

I believe Pat Summitt is still in her 50s. Not likely to retire any time soon.

What im wondering is what took so long. Nothing againsst van and what he acclomplished in his career but he was always going to be short term. Hopfeully this didn't set us back to far and we can get a team back to the final.4.

The racism, sexism and utter stupidity in this thread amaze me. You know who you are.

Yes, I know who I am. Not a racist, not stupid (got a master's in engineering, how about you?) I have personal reasons to dislike how the gay community likes to distort reality. So how about give it a rest?

I guess you know who you are, too, because your name says it, jester.

You know everyone thought that when Bertman started winning here, that it would just be a matter of time before he went back to The "U" to replace Frazier, and it never happened. So, who is to say that if this lady starts winning here that she would go back to Tenn. when Summit finally calls it quits? Let's just enjoy the moment, hope she is the answer to get this program into national contention again, and give her and the Lady Tigers our support.
