Sad but true. Last tight end we used was Dickson in 2007. He was a damn good receiving tight end too.

True but I think jacobs was becoming more involved. I for one was excited when he signed, saw him play in hs and he was a beast. He was going to be the next great te but now who knows. Not sure but wasn't he the guy that dropped a class and in doing so wasn't carrying enough hours or something?

Wish I could tell you. I agree he probably is a beast, but we still are loaded at the position. Also seeing as we don't involve the tight end as much as we should in the passing game, tight ends are pretty interchangeable. I wish we would get them more involved, but we haven't done it by now. It will likely never happen.

[What the heck is going on over there on campus?

Why do we continue to struggle with these discipline issues?

Miles doesn't seem to be able to control these guys. You can't be 'buds' with them and expect them to be afraid of letting you and the team down. This crap is getting old.]

You see it to...thought it was just me..if they don't stop believing their own hype you other LSU Fans are going to cussing and fussing a lot more in the next year!

B Rod is spot on, I know his g/f had a baby during the season.

B Rob might be right but you are not the child you speak of was not born this season she born during the 2011 season.

i posted on this situation awhile back and no one believed me but this comes from the family that i know personally
1. He was suspended due to a unpaid traffic ticket he failed to tell miles about & had some curfew issues a few times.
2. Could possibly be transferring to be closer to G/f and child in texas.

I was impressed with Jacobs early in the season and he looked like a better receiving TE than I had thought he was.

It is sad this happened--however, it looks like the TE position is being addressed very well in recruiting with Smith, Stokes and perhpas McNeil and Carter on board. Also, Dickson showed himself to be a capable receiver as the season went along.

we didn't use D-Lo all that consistently. Dickson was more a staple of the offense in 07 and 08. it'd be nice to get or TEs about 4-5 catches a game combined consistently. that's not a crazy number.

Sounds like more lack of institutional control. Don't worry, I am sure he will not be the last before next season starts. This seems to be a common occurance each year.

You mean the guy that only got about 10 touches? He deserved more, but if we underutilized Shepp, why wouldn't we under utilize a position we already neglect in the passing game?

I like Dickson's little bro! I think he can be a real threat if we pass it to him more...

I agree. We had Dickson on the bench but we passed it to Clement instead.... hands of stone.

No. I'm recognize the repeated suspension of players for fighting, dope and other issues is a very bad sign.

It does not help when we do crap like we did in 2011 by cutting the suspensions short of the honey badger (1st time) for the sake of a big game. It sends the wrong message that they don't have to be responsible for their actions. See where that got TM?

Miles seems to be more of a friend to these guys than a leader and coach. Believe me, if you are a leader to a group of any kind of people you must be a leader and not their friends. In a position like his: friend does not equal respect nor discipline.

These problems will likely continue for the foreseeable future.
