Like I said. We will see how it plays out. Few steals, little speed. Leads to average defense and needing home runs to win. Maybe some of those other college teams have some arms on the mound. We will see.

that made it to the backstop
Past our defensive specialist. Jay needs to give that shite up. They are all the same back there, go with whoever is hitting

I guess it would have been best to have Thompson batting with the bases loaded and two outs, but Merrifield taking off doesn’t bother me that much. He was the winning run. Everybody and his brother thought that ball was going to drop. I figured finally their streak of pulling catches out their asses would end.

I can handle losing midweek games.
I can especially handle losing midweek games to teams that put on an inspired performance.
What I can't handle is when my roster of blue chip all stars loses the game because of stupid, basic mistakes.
Nicholls played out of their minds tonight. And if you had just played a semi-smart and responsible game you would have beaten them.

We have the worst base coaches, they direct traffic worse than tee ball.
That is 1000% on Merrifield. He isn't looking at a coach on that play.

Or the ball, or the runner on 3rd

I have a feeling I’m going to regret this but what is JML?

3rd base coaching is atrocious. He should have prevented that instead of watching the game.

How huge was that second run via throw from RF that made it to the backstop
Oh look, another “little thing” that we don’t do well. One of our top relievers can’t back up home plate and allows a ball that gets thrown away to plate a runner who had stopped and was standing 80 feet from home plate. All Collins has to do is just be in the area code and the runner from third doesn’t run home.

The runner has to see the ball down. He just took off. Not on 3BC at all

Ah well, on to the next one ... can't wait to see Paul pitch against a hot Bama team, good stuff ....

Should have communicated the situation and to make grounders and line drives go thru. That's little league stuff

It was a pop up. My daughter hates sports and she knows you have to wait to see if it’s caught

The fact he has seen great plays being made AGAIN and AGAIN for the last three hours places even more blame on Merrifield. You would think he would assume the damn ball would be caught like the last 198 plays they made. That is a huge mental error as there is nothing bad that happens if he simply watches the ball to the ground/glove.

Do you even know baseball situational awareness?
Yep and I’m going on that same play to win the game every single time. Nobody in the stadium thought that guy was making that play. Nobody
And BTW - you can’t call it a GREAT PLAY AND THEN SAY THE RUNNER frickED UP. Doesn’t work that way when you’re trying to win. You take your fricking loss a-hole

Then why have a Coach on the field? I get 22 year olds should know better but Coaches are paid to make sure their head is in the situation.
