This looks to be the toughest schedule that LSU has played in a long time. I realize that a lot can change between now and next year, but I am wondering whether it is realistic to expect better than 9-3 even if the team improves significantly on offense.

i think we will do better than 9-3 next year if we get rid of crowten and make some other tiny changes

I want to believe you but I don't see any positives come from the O-line next year to make me think we do better than 9-3. The line is what wins games IMHO.

I see only three obvious wins on that schedule. Of course I expect us to win way more than three, but other than Vandy, McNeese, and UL-Monroe, could you consider any of those games to be in the bag?

Depends on who leaves for the draft. The idiots who have been saying everything will be perfect next year are delusional when you look at how much we lose.

Yeah, that's one of the many things that could change how I look at this (including who leaves for the draft from other programs). But assuming that all the juniors stay, I still think this is a really tough schedule and that it will be hard to win more than nine games even if we improve significantly on offense. I expect us to have one tired, beat up football team come November 2010.

We've got a good home schedule next year. The key is going to be what happens on the coaching front. If no changes coaching wise then we stink it up next year.

That's actually what I was looking at most. I doubt any of our juniors leave for the NFL draft. Chad Jones may leave for the MLB though.

Holy Crap! What a Negative Nancy! I guess you were just being "realistic."

W -Sep 4 North Carolina (in Atlanta) TBA
W -Sep 11 @ Vanderbilt TBA
W -Sep 18 Mississippi State TBA
? -Sep 25 West Virginia TBA
W -Oct 2 Tennessee TBA
? -Oct 9 @ Florida TBA
W -Oct 16 McNeese State TBA
W -Oct 23 @ Auburn TBA
? -Nov 6 Alabama TBA
W -Nov 13 Louisiana-Monroe TBA
W -Nov 20 Ole Miss TBA
? -Nov 27 @ Arkansas TBA

The biggest question marks are replacing the D-line and improving the O-line. Sorry, I just like being positive.

Dude, look at my posts in the past. I am anything but a negative fan. Like I said, I expect us to win way more than three games. But on an individual game basis, I don't think any game besides the three I mentioned is a lock. I think we should be better than several of those teams, but most of them are improving, and most of them played us close this year.

It's just a very tough schedule, and I think getting nine wins will be tough.

Just messin' wit ya.
I understand what you are saying. I guess I have a hard time seeing us get much worse, even though we lose our starting D-line. We played HORRIBLE and still managed a 9-3 record. WVU game scars me. Don't know much about them. On the other side, I only see one "lock loss." I think Bama will be the team to beat. UF will be very good, but not as good.

Yep. 10-2/7-1 would be a pretty good record considering we play UNC and WV. But the way I see it, 2010 is the time for the team and coaches to man up; show us what you got.
