But but muh o-line injuries. Some of the people on here are just too far gone to even have a rational discussion with. They cling to little talking points but when you ask them how that makes sense they can't really explain it.

I didn't join the board before Miles last year. Was it this insane when he was HC? Were there this many polarized people. You have to sift through so much shite to find a decent thread where people actually talk to one another. Recruiting board is usually much more calm conversation wise.

It was worse. Miles got bashed for not winning sec road games by enough points.
Most of the O sycophants in this thread wanted him fired in a year where we won the sec title and played for a NC.
It was way worse.

My opinion of O is that if he could break the cycle of this stale LSU offense he would win over a large portion of the people on the fence about him including myself. I feel he could be successful at LSU but is displaying signs of the same stubbornness that got Les canned in the end. Not only that but our offense appears to be regressing since UGA.

In almost every aspect this regime appears to be a lesser version of the last, and before anyone says but O got us to a NY6 bowl, I realize that and it's good to be in one. However, Miles got us SEC and National Championships. Until O truly fixes the offense and puts us in the playoffs I can't consider his coaching tenure better than or even equal to Miles'.

You love for Miles isastonashing....

Your hate for O is even worse.... He is the HC of the team you say you root for yet you take any chance you get to bash him... NEVER anything positive.....

To be fair, Miles won the SEC twice, one natty, appearance at another.

Just because O, at this point, hasn't done the same doesn't equal hating O.

He has been impressive this season. Not mind blowing but I must give him credit, for the most part.

There are things that need to be fixed, that's for sure.

That's great and I praised him when he did good and bashed him when he screwed up... Just like I do with the present coach....

Rickky hates everything O and comes to Miles rescue anytime someone says anything negative about him... Its insane........

i have said this for ages here. they are not coming here to learn and educate themselves and try to get out the football ignorant slump they are in. we continually put out facts correcting the disinformation and yet they continue parroting the same old drivel with no perspective or context. it is sad and pathetic.

Tell us why next year won’t be better. You don’t know anything about the roster construction of this team?? Just say so.

People want to predict LSU’s downfall but all of a sudden all of you need to see it before you say anything.

but looking at it now.. most those teams suck.

Beating up on bowl teams when you were picked 5th in the West & media members were already coming up with coaching replacements for O is terrible!

Do you not think that everyone else in the SEC will also improve?

Probably been said again and again in this thread... but we're always "Next Year U".

This year, we had the talent to make the CFP. We had the talent to beat Florida, but lost. We had the talent to beat aTm but officials... yeah. We had the talent and skill to beat everyone on our schedule except for Alabama... And we should have at least scored points on them, but didn't.

If you're fine with not making wholesale changes on offense, then you have accepted mediocrity and are part of the issue. That's nothing personal at all, but it should be apparent that what we're doing isn't enough to take our program back to the top.

Sure, we could be worse off. We are still a strong national brand and a Top 20 team even on bad years. But Les Miles achieved these same results for the same reasons, and we fired him for it. We fired a National Championship winning and contending coach, to replace him with a non-upgrade.

I was supportive of the Miles firing because I thought it showed that the Athletic Department was committed to getting us out of the rut and putting us back at the pinnacle. Had I known that he'd be replaced with a leteral/sub-lateral move, I'd have never been supportive.

T/F

Les Miles would have still been fired if he would have had LSU in a NY6 bowl game in 2014-2015, or on track for one in 2016.

False.

Because losing to the best coach in college football history does not get one fired.

But losing to Bret Bielema-led teams in back to back years by a combined score of 14-48 does.

Well leater I see you paid attention in math class.

Does 3 losses get you fired?

Or is it 10-3 10-3 8-5 9-3
5 straight loses to bama and the idea that you can’t get the team over the jump because you are never going to fix the offense.

Sammy, thinking that every loss is the same is the worst take you've ever put on this board, and that is saying something. I am legitimately embarrassed for you. Im not trying to be mean. but holy shite

did you not think Les Miles should have been fired?

I am Saying if you lose 3 games the points are the difference between a great season and being on the hot seat.

Sorry I disagree With that completely.

so what exactly are you arguing with me about?

Why are you asking me if 3=3 or if 3 losses gets you fired?

my stance has been pretty damn clear on that, and all of a sudden you are pretending to agree with me?

“ I was supportive of the miles firing because I thought it showed the athletic department was committed to getting out of the rut”

Boy, were we ever wrong bout that.

When the talk was about Jimbo I thought “ ok let’s go for it”. When the talk turned to Herman I thought, “ok, up and coming guy with strong O resume”. When the talk turned to a DL coach already on staff I thought, “are you freaking kidding me”.

Now, talk has turned to, let’s debate the virtues of being 9-3, 5-3 in 2015 as opposed to being 9-3, 5-3 in 2018.
