I know everyone gets mad that us Sunshine Tigers are always talking about next year, but how can you not look at the team we SHOULD field next year and not get excited.

Offense should be better regardless of O-Coordinator. We are returning our 5 best O-line who should be improved. We are getting a 5 star running back and a top 10 running back as well as Clyde Edwards-Helaire back.

Wide Receivers should all return minus maybe Giles. Tight End will be a weak spot, but hopefully someone emerges.

On Defense you SHOULD only lose Greedy and White. You replace white with Queen who IMO will play really well(obviously not at Dwhite level) and Greedy who will be replaced with the best player in the country and probably the best corner to commit to us since PP.

TLDR: LSU should be great next year. Anything less than 10 regular season wins will be a disappointment. Offense should be much improved regardless of coordinator and defense should hold steady.

If we stay healthy there it could be an upgrade over Foster as far as receiving threats go

If McMath, Moss, Pettigrew can all stay healthy we'll have plenty of talent there

I wouldn't sleep on Vincent and Fulton taking over the #1 corner spot just yet. And who knows how Netherly might evolve.

The players change the offense stays the same. We will always be next year u until scheme changes.

Plus I was told by our head coach that our o line and d line players aren’t good enough. We will only have one new d lineman next year

Understandable

But McMath/Pettigrew if both healthy could replace Foster Moreau at least as a pass catching threat

I'm gonna tell you why people give y'all shite about this idea about next year.
quote:

Offense should be better

Heard this last year
quote:

We are returning our 5 best O-line who should be improved.

Last year, y'all said that O had shored up both lines.
quote:

Wide Receivers should all return minus maybe Giles.

Last year we were told that this would be the strength of the team, the best group in the SEC and some even said the best in LSU history.
quote:

On Defense you

I think the majority of people predicted a top 5 defense.

It's not the fact that people are optimistic, I am too. It's the over the top delusional pumping that turns people off IMO.

I was about to call BS and then looked at the recruiting page

How is that even possible?

Well I think realistically we won't match up with BAMA next year on the lines, but you never know how the season unfolds. I don't consider the season a failure or success off one game that literally no one will beat this year or next. They have one of the best college QB's I have ever watched and he is playing on one leg.

With all that said I really think we can go 11-1 or 10-2 next year.

You answered your own question. "Should field" and what gets trotted out on the field seem to be two different things when it comes to our offense. That's why. Because people always say the offense SHOULD BE better next year and it never changes.

because the Orgeron and Ensminger MENTALITY is so unlikely to change. Like Les Miles, they PREFER to sit on leads late in the 4th as opposed to putting the game away by throwing for 1st downs. It cost us the game at A&M.

What scheme was run this season, and what scheme, do you think, should have been run instead?

Over the top hating was way worse. You “try” and be fair but you can’t help it.

I agree 100%. That isn't what the thread is about. If you want to discuss that, start a thread about it.

Tell me how I'm not fair. I haven't even said anything negative about the job Orgeron has done this season outside of the vanilla scheme against lesser opponents and I'm concerned about the direction of the offense. You either have me confused with someone else or you're looking for something that isn't there.

I don't often disagree with you. There is nothing delusional about returning starters and shoring up positions of need. This is college football it changes year to year. I thought that the offensive line would've been better but who could predict the mash unit that it would become. The wide receiver group had and has serious potential but looked like it lacked leadership. Probably because there were no upper classman in the group. Hopefully they can turn the corner. Another year in the system can't hurt and Joe being back is huge. Davis and Emery bring something that was lacking this year.

Yes I'm optimistic. The question is why aren't you?

Classic example of assuming someone's position. I literally said flat out in my post that I was optimistic. Not only that, you basically repeated everything that I said. That you thought they were going to be one thing this season and then they weren't. What's the difference?

Here is my statement from that post.

Read your post. Last year "yall" said this, "yall" said that. I assume you are calling anyone that thought a position group would be good is a "sunshine pumper". Which is absolutely ignorant, but ok.

You're trying to pretend to be neutral but you are obviously on the other side when you start saying "yall" said this and that and you are rubbing it in people's faces for being wrong.

Here's a newsflash. First year players who play one year, and return the next, generally get better. You're skeptical. that's fine. This Mr Neutral stuff is funny.

We returned 10 starters coming into this year.

We will return at least 16 next year from a NY6 bowl team. Surely you can see the difference. 2-3 positions will be addition by subtraction. This team's outlook is much better for next year than it was this year.

Are LSU fans really this fricking basic?
