The permanent site for the SEC Championship Game in Atlanta needs to end. As more and more western schools join, the unfair advantage for the eastern teams becomes greater and greater. I think they need to start letting the school with the top record host the game. This would reward the team with the top record with both home field advantage and extra revenue from hosting an additional game. This would follow the PAC-12 model.

The sec championship is an event. The reason it’s been in Atlanta is it’s a major hub, with plenty of hotels, convention center, domes stadium, and major airport that’s accessible from anywhere in the us.
You can’t play the game in Columbia, Missouri or Starkville, Mississippi. That couldn’t support the influx.
Now you could rotate the game between Atlanta, Nashville, Dallas, Houston, New Orleans. All are domes stadiums except Nashville. And all have major convention centers and plenty of hotels and airport access.

Keep it simple...rotate between Atlanta and New Orleans.

if you wanted to hypothesize...you could go with team with best record being the host site, ie...if LSU has best record going into SEC CG, game would be in NOLA....if FL has best record, game would be in ATL.

EDIT - I'm not saying do that, was just my response to the above scenario.

You can’t do that. What’s the point and how do you plan in advance. And why not include Dallas and Houston? He’ll throw Jacksonville in for that matter

Yes, it needs to be cycled between Mercedes Dome, Superdome, and Jerry's World.

While we’re at it can we get the SEC headquarters out of Birmingham?

The SEC needs to move the football championship game and the SEC baseball tournament around.

Should’ve been done ages ago.

Atlanta and Hoover suck and should NOT be permanent host sites.

Yes! The SEC office definitely needs to be moved out of Birmingham!! I hope with Texas & OU aboard, more pressure can be put on the Headquarters to move to a less biased location!!

Fans, hotels, airlines, and stadiums would require more time to make arrangements.

Why not? Guarantees no home field advantage.

I'm definitely in favor of that, but if you throw in Nashville, then you have a site from each of the presumed geographical pods.

This is probably what should happen.
