Holy shite, it's settled. This 75 year old man is betting his prized possession on whether or not a kid plays because it's "Survival Saturday".

There are LSU fans “the Ohaters” who are willing to manufacture evidence and fire up a lynch mob in order to get O fired.

I would just like to share this with all of the LSU fans who say LSU should never ever lose to State, fire O if he does. Before many of you were born, there was a four year stretch where Miss State owned LSU with a QB named John Bond. And it wasn’t like LSU didn’t have elite talent on defense to stop Bond, they had All NFL pro Dlineman Leonard Marshal and others.

I remember. They ran a straight up triple option like Navy does and LSU just could not defend it. It was like watching paint dry - racking up 4 ypc and holding the damn ball all game.

All four of those games came the week after a hard fought Alabama game. Let down games are real and doesn’t change the fact the Bond hasn’t been stopped by LSU yet.

That last Bear Bryant game was great.

Also the paper noted that with the return of Jay Ward it should improve the secondary. It was after his injury in the 1st quarter that Ga transfer Major Burns came in. On the very next play Burns allowed UCLA to score

This is revisionist history. Burns started alongside Ward.

Make that 5 straight years. Orlando Lundie from Bogalusa ran all over us in 84.

I’m 47 years old, we have lost to Miss St 11 times in my life. Losing to them was never a worry until Orgeron took over. If we lose Saturday it’ll be the first back to back losses to them since Archer/Hallman. Let that shite sink in

Bond ran the option very well. Those LSU teams were not good at all btw.

For the first time ever, LSU has started two new OC’s and DC’s in back to back years. That’s all on O, he’s responsible. But he may have just hit the jackpot with these two current ones. O better hope so.

So what you are saying is that LSU never lost to State prior to Orgeron?

I didn't know that.

He was saying it wasn’t considered likely prior to Orgeron. It happened. It just wasn’t expected

LSU has opened with similar type opponents but has never led or was at the top in sacks by the defense or TD’s by our offense. Burrow didn’t lead the nation in TD’s until after Alabama.

There’s no logical reason for a 190 lb QB to survive repeated hits by 320 lb Leonard Marshal and others in a dog pile.

Most QBs take the hits without getting knocked out of the game. It wasn’t a miracle that John Bond survived. He was an excellent QB who survived every defense he played against.

Also, when LSU beat Bear Bryant in Tuscaloosa it wasn’t because we were very good; it was because they were very bad, and Bear was a walking corpse!

LSU lost to State because State was better than LSU. They were 9-3 his freshman year, 8-4 his sophomore year, fell apart his junior year and were 5-6, and were 3-8 his senior year. They finished ahead of LSU in the SEC three of his four years.

True, most QB’s take these hits, but Bond took hits constantly on every play, that didn’t happen to Joe. LSU defenders who were tired of losing to this dude, left their marks on him. But he got up every time. Probably the one SEC player I most hated yet most respected.
