was seeing Jefferson and Marshall lining up in the backfield. I'm assuming giving CEH a better one-on-one matchup from the slot? Makes me believe that we may see a two back set at some point.

If the defense puts a corner on CEH out wide guess who the LB has to guard out of the backfield?

Massive advantage Chase.

(I don't remember seeing Jefferson or Marshall lined up as RB. I do remember Chase.)

Jefferson

I think I saw him come in once and catch a quick swing pass to the left.

I was just thinking the same exact thing, when Marshall scores his TD, Jefferson was in the backfield next to Burrow and drew the attention of the defense in the flats leaving the middle of the field wide open

That play set up the Terrance Marshall TD when every bama db ran up thinking Jefferson was getting the pass.

Gets a LB on Chase. Go watch the Thad Moss catch replay. Chase ran an option route out of the backfield and was wide open. It probably would've only gotten 10 yards and I guess Joe liked the matchup with Thad. It all worked out.

They've been doing stuff like that before this game.

I recall seeing Chase/Jefferson in the backfield a couple times against Auburn.

Burrow had wide open TD to Moss too on that play if he wanted.
Another time we ran it Bama covered the flat route well.

We did it against Auburn but the play got blown dead and we never saw what the play was going to be.

There was a play blown dead that Chase was in the backfield and CEH was in motion from Left to Right

Was watching a pregame analysis where they said Bama does not like to tackle/pick up those quick RB passes. By doing that they get all the matchups discussed, plus the best pass catchers and quickness on a Bama weakness.

You assume right. It does two things, really.

1. Reveals the coverage as man vs zone.

2. Match up either CEH on a linebacker in space where he can't get sucked into the line or a WR on LB going towards the flat. Win win. Saints do this with Kamara a lot.
