Still not too shabby. Except for the strikeouts.
Dylan Crews hit .362 for the season.
He hit .310 in 33 SEC games.
He hit .419 in 30 non-SEC games.
In the SEC games there is a .024 difference between Dylan and Tyler's average (.310 - .286).
If you were to remove just 3 hits from Dylan's total over the course of 33 SEC games his average would have been at .287. That is very close to what Tyler (.286) did this past season against the SEC on weekends.
Who knows if Tyler would have more hits and a higher average with more attempts against the SEC or less. But their averages are actually very close
Hits : Ks is VERY alarming. Except we have a catcher that can’t hit at all. Milazzo and Martin’ Maldonado for Houston are about the same. Great defensively; bad offensively.
With that, does Coach Johnson believe in letting pitchers hit? So we have any pitchers that are good hitters? The reason I’m asking is maybe we can DH Milazzo.

Dylan had 129 at bats with 40 hits in SEC play for .310
If he had 37 hits in 129 AB his average would be .287
So again, for Tyler hitting .286 in just the SEC "weekend" series is still pretty damn good. To me anyway

If he can play catcher well it should be extremely encouraging to anyone.
I also Think everyone will benefit from Johnson’s coaching. The added focus on approach and prep is something I feel Like we’ve been missing.

I think that just with Johnson's philosophy, which seems to be "Don't strike out". His SO's should go down, SIGNIFICANTLY .

Not sure, haven't seen an LSU pitcher bat since the "Nuke Man" who could hit bombs.

You are very correct. I totally forgot about that one. Great for him and the team.

Yep, it was great for him to have a moment like that, with such a tough year to end his career here.
