came here from climpson beat. as we know, writers there notoriously easy on Dabo. a categorical yes-man with zero hard hitting questions or topics. mostly puff pieces about how nice a guy Dabo is.
unimaginatively, first artical here is the very lazy “real death valley“ trope that climpson people evidently froth over. hopefully he takes July and August to understand what he needs to do to keep his job.

Dabo isn’t Gene Chizik or Larry Coker level lucky but aside from the two titles he has he really isn’t that great of a coach and very much a pedestrian level recruiter.

Dabo has had an amazing run since 2011 (minus last year).
How many coaches besides Saban can match his resume in that time span?

Exactly! The guy didn’t just win two; he appeared in five. He lost traction when the game changed to pro ball, but before that he was a clear #2 to Saban.

He has been consistent on his run since 2011 but look at ACC teams that they compete against year in and year out. It’s really nothing compared with Big Ten and SEC.

Yeah. Aside from that. Let’s ignore that.

And yet he was able to beat Big 10 and SEC teams. Building a powerhouse isn't totally reliant on conference membership.

Some of yall really need more going on in your own lives to focus on.

I can’t stand Dabo’s golly gee persona. But there are exactly 2 active coaches with multiple titles and he’s one of them.

Dabo is an excellent recruiter. That's the whole reason he was dominant pre-NIL. His struggles have been because recruiting hardly matters anymore.
Clemson pre-Dabo was basically LSU pre-Saban. His tenure has been Saban at LSU and Miles at LSU combined.

Annoying article. He’s going to regret glazing Clemson in Baton Rouge paper. LINK

Annoying article.
Understatement.
““most exciting 25 seconds in college football,”. Running down a hill from a bus and touching a rock must be exciting in Carolina but it doesn’t move the excitement meter a millimeter.
What a terrible way to introduce prospective readers to yourself. Poking your finger in their eye. What a complete douchenozzle!

While true, he doesn't have control over what conference Clemson is in. He has made the most of his opportunities when they did face the best of the best too.
His team destroyed one of the best teams I've ever seen when they beat the 2018 Bama team 44-16. That team had destroyed everyone and no one did that to Saban (and that was when he was at his peak there). He also won another title against a great Saban team and nearly had a third against them. His only lopsided NC loss was in the Dome against arguably the most talented offense of all time in LSU.
The portal era has not been kind to him as he is too old school (many veteran coaches are). But Clemson before him was sort of like LSU before Saban came here. They had a lot of potential but usually underachieved. However he did it, he made Clemson into an impressive powerhouse for a period of time and that is a major accomplishment.
