Not for me per-say, but whomever the QB will be...He needs to know sooner rather than later. And 4 months isn't enough time to improve that much. You use that time to stay in shape, sharpen your skills and build on the chemistry with your receivers.

If we played tomorrow, Id definitely want JM to start. But he was getting nice reviews in fall camp last year, and it was really curious that not only was he “beaten out” by a tremendously green—and skinny—true FR who hadn’t even been there for spring, but that he played almost none throughout the entire season. (I use “beaten out” in quotes because I believe Orgeron was honoring some sort of recruitment promise to Brennan that he likely had to make to bring him back after he decommitted.)

My concern with JM, is that if we run this shotgun spread offense that it looks like we are going to have to to take advantage of our talented group of WRs and TEs and are throwing short quick passes to get the ball quick and in space, JM’s lack of pinpoint accuracy and great arm strength may lead to a few jumped routes for pick sixes. Especially against the better d backfields with good defensive coaching like Bama, Georgia, Auburn, etc...

Long way to go till September, but I think our offense’s ceiling may be with Narcisse running spread options, rollout RPOs, quick passes with zip to Jefferson and Giles, and taking long shots downfield and letting some of those freaks like Davis, Anderson, Marshall, etc... go up and make a play. He’s just so damn athletic and explosive. The RPOs should open up the middle of the field for Sullivan, Moreau, Pettigrew, Moss. Damn, so many weapons, it’s a shame we don’t already have someone polished enough to get it to them consistently. Let’s hope the close competition makes them all raise their games exponentially the next 4 months.

Maybe, but he's above average on our team, so...

Brennan still has the most upside, but McMillan looked pretty good to me. If Brennan can put on some weight and get better protection, that would be optimal, IMO. Having a better than serviceable QB as a backup in McMillan is even better. I think Narcisse will start at LSU one day, but I doubt it will be this year.

If JM is terrible the Rantards should want him since he gives LSU their best chance of losing which is what they REALLY want. Coach O will never be fired unless LSU loses so O haters want LSU to lose.

Here we go, Give Him A Chance University. It used to just apply to coaching hires but now it applies to QBs as well. Qualifications don't matter as much as our belief in random luck falling our way. Because... You just never know.

might be a bit early for this ... we've seen maybe 20% of the offense. I posted in another thread and it applies here... if the RPOs are a big part of the offense, JM might be the best option.
