The question was who would you take over SEC coaches jackass. And Saban and Smart were the two I was thinking of.

Not talking to you dummy, talking to OP.

Just to be clear though, Saban and Smart are the only coaches better than O?

I'm not even going to get into the other lower tiered guys, but you honestly dont think Mullen, jimbo, and malzahn are better coaches than O?

9 and 3 is a winning season. Whether any of you want to admit it or not it's a winning season. So you basically just admitted that your entire argument is shite. Have a great day.

9-3 is very very average according to the last 15 year's of LSU football. That's a fact

The frick of it is. 6 and 6 would be even.

9 and 3 while not what everyone wants and certainly underachieving for the team but when weighed against the internal struggles the team had was actually a pretty decent result.

I expect this team to compete for the SEC championship. I think the talent is there.

That's what he's saying.

5 of the teams we beat fired their head coach. Another win was against probably the worst BYU team in the last 15 years and then we beat Chattanooga. The one good win is the Auburn game. We had to work at it to pull a win vs. Syracuse.

So while on paper 9-3 looks good, it is average when you look at the resume of the teams we beat. You may not agree but that's the truth.

I know this team is loaded with playmakers and there's a good chance many will be playing on Sundays. The coaching needs to be consistent. It's time for the rubber to meet the road.

LSU had absolutely no control over any of that. They played the schedule put in front of them which is basically the same schedule they play every year. To hold that against O is chickenshit. Last I checked the SEC is still the SEC.

Did you say winning season or “pretty decent result?”

Where did I say I was holding it against O? I know he had no control over how successful the teams we played were.

But at the same time, to act like he beat successful team after successful team week after week after week isn't true either.

In any event, that was last season when the SEC was very weak. Now all those teams we beat have new coaches (will they improve immediately? ) and we play 4 top 10 teams (at least as it stands now) so it will be extremely important that O remains focused, gets the team up and ready and use the talent he has on that team effectively. I don't know if he can do that on a consistent basis but I would love for him to prove me wrong and I'll admit I was wrong.

I gave him, and still do, credit for the victory over Auburn. I'm not one of these people that want him to fail. I am going to be realistic though.

We had opertunitiea to both beat quality teams and win 10 games. Instead we went 2-4 vs teams over .500. We did play the teams on the schedule, we should have beaten more Of them.

Well we did have 8/14 teams finish at .500 or lower and only 2/15 teams win double
Digit games.

So yeah. Same Powerhouse SEC.

You don't get to lower expectations because they screwed up early. That's like saying 6-6 is good because we lost the first 6, but then rallied to win the last 6.

Last year was supposed to be competing for the West, based on talent and schedule. Even O said as much.

Damn man. 6-6 is average for the entire college football world as a whole. Not LSU, not based on talent, facilities, investment etc. That's what 'average' is based on.

What's been our average record over the last 15 year's?

The argument was for a SUCCESSFUL season

Last 15 years LSU has averaged 9.25 wins in a 12 game season.

So 9 wins is below average for modern day LSU
