First let’s start with football. We win a national championship. Let me repeat that we win a national championship and then some of you have the audacity to question Coach O’s next hires. He has earned our respect. This man just won a national championship. He has deserved the right to hire whoever he wants to.
Second let’s get to basketball. Do some of you not remember that we nearly spent about 10 years through the Trent Johnson and Johnny Jones era. During that era we were absolutely irrelevant. Wade comes in and we are instantly winning SEC regular season titles and making runs in the NCAA Tourney. Yet some of you say he sucks and this team sucks. I bet some of you don’t even realize after all of the horrible media coverage he took last year he still has a top 10 recruiting coming in for us next year. Anyone that knows basketball knows that it would be a success if this team this year made the tournament. This team may be two wins away too almost locking themselves into the tournament. Case closed.
Now let’s take baseball. This one I am most lenient with you negatives. Yes I do think PM is turning into sort of a Miles situation but let’s talk about this weekend. You people come out of the woodwork after every loss. Yes this baseball team is going to lose games. You can’t win every baseball game. We just won a series against a solid Indiana team. I actually like this team a lot. Some things PM has addressed that make me believe he isn’t done. He went out and made it a purpose to go get some lefties for the pitching staff. He went out and got himself a damn fine defense catcher. Something that people have been asking for. Btw I think Milazzo has the chance to be one of the best catchers to come through LSU. Not to long ago people were bitching about how all PM recruits are shortstops and all of our guys are small. I don’t think that’s the case anymore. We now have guys like Garza, Travinski, Beloso.
I’m just saying quit all of your bitching and enjoy this ride while you can. Not many schools have all three of there major sports competing for championships. I may get many downvotes but screw it meet me at sonic.

They are not bitching about Orgeron, Wade and Mainieri. It is themselves that is at the root of this. These are people who are not happy with their lives. Amen brother. It doesn’t matter if you are an 8 seed in the tourney or a 1 seed. You’ll still have to beat quality teams, you just need to get in to have a chance. This team will certainly be in.
There are truly some miserable people on this board. I don’t recall anything thinking the basketball team was going to go 16-2 or 15-3 again. Most had them with 11–13 wins and they are going to be all over that.

Football: No issues. Defense was horrible mid-season but O and Aranda got it fixed and didn’t waste the best season of any quarterback to come through LSU. Fully expect to lose 2-3 games next year and perfectly OK with that. Expect to compete for a title again within five years.
Basketball: 8-0 was smoke and mirrors, and a lot of luck. Most frustrating aspect was the inability to make adjustments, especially in defending the perimeter. Vandy loss was the turning point—a team that scores 90 and still loses isn’t going anywhere. Fully expect the team to make the tournament, but not the Sweet 16. Not going along for that ride.
Baseball: This is the biggest disappointment. Manieri has not kept the program at a high level. Vandy and South Carolina have both won multiple titles since LSU last won one. Florida also has a title and Arky would too if it could catch a foul ball. LSU isn’t even a Top 5 team in the SEC anymore. And don’t give me the BS about how the game has changed and is much more competitive than when Skip was here. Other schools have built programs and dynasties in this era. (Oregon freakin’ State has three titles since 2006!) LSU has not. And that’s on the coach and his “friends and family” staff. Fully expect to not make it out of a Super this year. Hope I’m wrong, but this program is headed in the wrong direction. And it used to be our calling card. That’s why it hurts the most. Anything we get in football and basketball is lagniappe. Baseball is supposed to be bread and butter. Or at least cold couche couche.

I’m sorry but our basketball ball team is just not that good. Yes we make the tournament but unless we get hot, we lose the first or second game. This does not make me a negative fan. It makes me a realist.
