Was there a Guidry sighting in the dugout this weekend? I’m not holding my breath we see him this year on a mound

Good question. I have been messaging with a poster who made the trip up to Norman with the team because I couldn't make the trip due to a crawfish boil that was scheduled prior to the season. I will be seeing him Tuesday in Thibodaux, so I will ask then if nobody can confirm before.

I can certainly attest to seeing him at home games and in Austin being in the dugout with the team though

He had advanced his throwing regimen and started buildup since mid January up until about the third week or so of February when it was leaked that he had an injury.

Word is that he has thrown bullpens and it is a pain tolerance thing that is keeping him sidelined. I expect if he becomes available that we will see him in a brief midweek appearance before making a SEC debut if he remains pain free.

So you’re here to complain after we just swept a top 10 team on the road! Some of our fans are insufferable.

I wish I knew the redshirt rules for sure, all I've seen are guesses and the guy that would know for sure is banned at this time and I'm not feeling like googling it

I'm pretty sure he can't make an appearance and maintain a redshirt season. tRant experts here will likely chime in to confirm

Well I thought so too but you said that jay said he was going to pitch the other day if not for 10 run rule. I find it hard to believe that jay wouldn't have a plan to redshirt the guy.

Yes Jay did say that in a presser. It sounded like he was gonna throw, and I can confirm that he was warming up under the bleachers.

Likely that they have a plan for him but not sure what it actually is.

His name is Cooper

The rhetorical question was in reference to Riley Cooper not Cooper Williams but I like where you’re going. I sure hope he is able to develop into that role by year end.

Not the thread to call it out, but Hernandez and Stanfield were about as impactful in this series as the pitching staff was.
__________

I love how we won each game differently this weekend. Hernandez is becoming a doubles machine. And Curiel seems to know how to play a little ball.

I think Noot will get a real shot in SEC play soon…..I suspect he would have gotten a shot this weekend if the starters wouldn’t have been so dominant and got us directly to Evan’s and Cowan directly on Friday and Saturday.

Anyone who watched that series could see OU couldn’t hit

They may be top 10 rn but they’re not a top 10 team. Maybe top 20

Noot has had less control issues than most but his stuff just isn’t great.

If we have to lean on him then expect to get hit around by better teams
