LSU can and should do better than Denbrock. It's not lost on Kelly. He was candid after the offensive performance against TN. Polian has to go. That's without question. I'm not sure Kelly pulls the trigger on replacing Denbrock if you can win 10 games this year. On the one hand, you can get a better coach. On the other, you're winning. To me, it's not a tough call. You have a program willing ot get the best available so go out there and get him.
What these kids need the most right now is stability. They’ve been through a revolving door of coordinators just about every year.
We may be able to do better than Denbrock but he has been calling some damn fine games.
Kelly and the administration needs to do everything in their power to hold on to these two coordinators this offseason. We’ve got to stop starting over every season and let these kids actually learn a system.
Polian can gtfo though

Fair point.
My opinion on Denbrock is more based on the job he did at ND, not the job he is doing this year.
Having some level of consistency may be more important than trying to upgrade right now.

e made some serious changes at ND when he had to make changes. They were a little late,

Yup. Some believe it was excusing making and some believe they were needed. I think it's useless to even examine the question from a ND fan's persepctive. The question ND fans should ask themselves is if you were a coach with a decade or less left in your career and you want to win a title, do you stay at ND or take a shot at LSU?
The answer is painfully obvious.

think it's a combination money, and based on what I just witnessed during the ND presser, he correctly assessed this is his best shot to win a title.
Bottom line he saw the last two LSU coaches to win national titles here and rightfully concluded, if they can....I can.

I hope y’all realize that polian is vital behind the scenes /off the field. He will be here in some capacity next season

He can even retain the title for special teams coordinator as he needs to for recruiting but bring in a consultant to run the show.

They don't, and will just keep repeating what they hear.

You are also correct, ND cannot win a title without a generation QB. That is probably true for every team in the country outside of a few, LSU being one of them.
Well this wasn't the case for ND before...your last NC winning QB Tony Rice was not a generational QB, he was solid and had many weapons surrounding him and at that time we were still at the 105 scholarship limit...
but after the reduction to 85 by '94 and with ND academic requirements, the reduction really hurt ND...
And NIL will not do yall any favors because you get back to the same problem, academic requirements...
ND just can't grab anyone out of the portal either because of the academic requirements...
ND really needs to ease up on the requirement for its athletes, but I doubt that ever happens...

Less than a year ago, TN lost to ND's little brother Purdue in a bowl game and now they're talking shite to ND fans on a LSU message board. Things are going well in rocky top. Only took two decades but they've made it.

Kelly brought ND out of the depths of college football hell, and that is more important to me than the manner in which he left.
This is what many ND fans forget that before Kelly got there ND was a laughing stock. After Holtz left they went thru some coaches that did nothing and i mean nothing. Kelly knows what it takes to get a team in playoff contention. He got ND there a few times but he was never going to beat a top sec team or OH ST/Clemson type. With the academics required there for athletes at ND. I believe Kelly wanted one more shot to Win it all and believed at LSU it could happen even with the bama's and UGa's etc..

And their most recent national title is still a decade closer to now than Notre Dame’s.
