You wouldn't have started this thread if Poche started tonight and pitched 7 shutout innings
I would've started the thread.

Well, LSU is clearly not worried about winning so I don't get your point

Cal-Irvine's ace started tonight after pitching 7 innings earlier in the weekend

left after 4.1 IP... about 60 pitches... w/ a 1-0 deficit b/c his D let him down even though it was an earned run (should've been a 6-4-3 inning-ending DP in the T3... but relay from 2nd was in the dirt and couldn't be dug out... run scored from 3rd)

he will get a ND after UCI tied it in the B5

Coaches now a days are more worried about victory. Hats off to Robinson for great performance. He pitched 190 pitches this weekend. That is selfish from the coach

He wouldn't have had to pitch that much if we would have hit the guy just a little bit. Coming into this regional the guy had made 20 appearances and totaled 31 innings. He pitched close to, if not 16 innings this weekend. Hats off to him. 2 years ago Stoney Brook did basically the same thing, where their guy nearly passed out on the mound following shutting down our hitting. When it's crunch time our hitters go in the tank. Happened in the super regional in 2012, continued in last year's CWS, and was on full display again tonight.

So we lost to a guy who pitched 190 pitches?

I don't think there should be an innings limit, but recruits should make note of coaches who are willing to abuse their arms. I thought that was pretty bad by the Houston coach to do that to the kid.

I think it should be up to the pitcher

So you are mad at Houston because they pitched their best pitcher?

Up 7, there was no reason to keep throwing that guy.

My only beef with it is that all it will take is one player blowing out his arm on his 165th pitch and then they will have to make a rule. A rule that will inevitably cause problems for a team/coach/pitcher down the road.

As soon as this rule was implemented it would probably bite LSU in the arse.

Then everyone would say "what a bunch of p*ssies at the NCAA.. Real men used to pitch 30 innings a weekend!!" (Which is actually true back in the old days of baseball).

How? CPM and AD protect their pitchers.

OK so where are you going to draw the line and within what timeframe?

Who makes the rule? NCAA Doctors? "Protective" coaches like CPM?

Do you think the rule would've helped LSU last night with UH's pitching depth?

Yet on Friday night against SELU they seemed to come through in crunch time. And what about last weekend against Florida?
