quote:ikr for a kid that had tonsillitis that gargling with hot water and salt heals up w/ an antibiotic. My kids were back at school the next week after getting tonsillitis. Smdh. Dude been in college 6 yrs and waited 4yrs later to get a yr back cause he all of the sudden got good? Well of course he did, he is older. Dude had 4 yrs already. He sat the bench the year in question. No medical or red shirt then. This is a farce. Kid should have been told to go to the NFL. But the money blah blah. Nil had its hand in it too. If it weren't for Nil, the kid would be gone 100 percent.
Yeah, simple. NCAA shouldn't exist. That's your answer. They do nothing to exist other than put their hand in the cookie jar and screw everything they can up. They have no power or teeth to do anything other than make the sport worse. They're going to lose this appeal but it's just another last breath effort for the NCAA to hold onto existing to make $$$ and continue to screw the sport over.

I just dont understand this kid's decision to stay.
I think you missed the main one. $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ to come back . Though he probably would have got a pretty good rookie NFL deal with him being one of the top5 QB's in the draft class.

Exciting stuff since this expedited Golding’s return to Kiffin staff, but this time as a dline coach.

6 of the 7 Judges are Ole Miss grads
They can procedurally stall this until after the 2026 football season and then rule that the point of the suit is now moot.
Chambliss is not going pro, because he will take a pay cut by going pro.

Is it too late for him to join the draft?
Appears to be. Deadline for him was Jan 15th.

To add support to your comment— The completely “impartial” judge actually teared up when reading his decision. Lol. It was embarrassingly funny.

All but one of the Mississippi Supreme Court are Ole Miss Alums.
Think Ole Miss will be fine

Basically an ole miss alumni should be allowed to grant an ole miss player an extra year... which makes sense.
At the same time they are out there granting other players way more years...
If this was anyone else id be on Trinidads side...but frick ole miss lol

NCAA is abbreviated for National Collegiate Athletic Association
The body to oversee college sports
Are you suggesting that there be no body in charge or possibly
One individual
On line betting
Government
Television
Professional sports teams
The basic fundamental of the NCAA was for universities to have student athletes compete in a friendly rivalry game and foster fair competition with no one really profiting.
Obviously as athletics, television, money, online betting etc are now running the process its a mess.
Curious you solution instead of shouting at the rain

Without working out, most have him as a 2nd -3rd round grade. That is an average of $3.3 million (top of 2nd round) to $1.8 million (bottom of 2nd round) for a 4 year contract.

Per the filing: "If courts can intervene in NCAA eligibility decisions to provide special treatment to favored athletes then the NCAA’s ability to ensure fair athletic competition" will be at "the whims of trial courts."
A local state court at that.

What happens if a state court in a different state rules he can’t play? For example, maybe the state court in Florida sides with the NCAA? Can he play in the road game in Florida?
