does that effect LSU's computer score?

I have wondered before what happens if a team has to forfeit. Pretty sure they would either have to give LSU the win...or more likely ignore the forfeits in the computer polls

The nation better hope UGA loses to Auburn, otherwise chaos is going to erupt.

I like what Lee Feinswog said on 104.5 with Matt Moscona yesterday.

"If Georgia beats Auburn, LSU will win the national championship."

Let's hope for the best!

It would have to be the start of the 2011 season.

TCU does not have an opponent left that could beat App State or Jacksonville State (both undefeated AA's). TCU will not lose another game.

You are a moron. They play San Diego State that is 7-2. They are just outside the top 25 with a win over Air Force (#23 at the time)and a close loss to Missouri (27-24).

Ok didn't read all this to know if this has been mentioned. Lets say Auburn loses to Bama and loses in the SECCG. Then Oregon loses to OSU or Zona. I find it hard to believe that they would allow the BCSCG to be TCU v Boise. So wouldn't they likely take LSU?

i thought about this as well, and believe the same thing...

I just dont know if Oregon is going to lose...
but I do see Auby getting beat by bama and FL...

I dont see how the BCS could take TCU and Boise and put them in the NC...

Oregon will deserve a seat at the table if they win out.

Auburn will also deserve to play in title game if they win out.

TCU deserves to move up if either Oregon or Aurburn fall.

Boise seems to be odd team out again. IMO

LSU needs a ton of help here and I agree the NC is probably out of reach but the Cam Newton story could turn or Auburn could stumble to the finish line. Only shot like LSUMATT said was is us going to SEC title game. 20% chance maybe.

Nebraska/ OU won't jump us IMO if we win out. Auburn losing could keep us out BCS and that would add insult to injury.

Reguardless, I see Auburn losing to Bama with Oregon playing TCU in title game.

Haven't read the whole thread either, so sorry if this has been asked, but what takes priority: max 2 teams per conference to BCS games, or top 4 teams are guaranteed a spot? Seems if LSU and Auburn win out in the regular season and Auburn loses a close game vs. FL in the SECCG, it seems there would be a small chance that could come up.

Matt does not say this, at least not yet. Is it our best chance as of November 9th? Yes. Is it our only chance? No.

This is the nightmare scenario. 9-3 Florida upsets Auburn and #4 ranked, 11-1 LSU heads back to the fricking Cap One Bowl again.

If this happens one of the other BCS games would pick us up simply because our ranking and money making potential. Not to mention, only half of the BCS Bowls actually have "tie-ins."

I am no expert on this, but I assume that they wouldn't give LSU wins even they gave AU losses. The interesting question is how the computers would be affected. They can't give AU losses w/o giving their opponents wins. At the same time, it would be unfair if a team got "wedged out" in the computers b/c AU finished 12-1 or something.

If it were me, I would insist that the computers run their simulations as if AU games all counted and then delete Auburn.

That's exactly what they do with USC

Would it matter? I believe a 1-loss SEC team (whoever that is) makes the cut above BSU/TCU. Plus, I give up worrying. With TMH/Lesticles passing out bowls of grass to the press, it's like he is playing on another level. Maybe a la John Cena, we can't see him.

(Updated) National Title Hopes? We now have a 3rd chance of getting to the SECCG and BCSCG?

3. Cam-gate. Unlikely to have NCAA (or AU on their own, or SEC, or FBI, etc.) intervene before SECCG, but chances are getting better every day? (See ESPN story re "the money was too good").

If nothing comes of Cam-gate before the SECCG and BCSCG:

2. Aubie goes to SECCG and teams above us in BCS lose. Sounds like a LONG shot, but anything can happen as lsumatt pointed out about 2007.

1. UGA beats aubie (followed by gumps later). Still our best shot?, but unlikely that aubie loses 2 with Cam.

IMO winning out and Sugar is still our goal and would make for a GREAT season... but things are getting very interesting. Thanks to lsumatt for posting this every Sunday.

But we have 2 chances to make the NC game: 1. AU loses to UGA and Bama and LSU wins the SECCG. It would be close between LSU and TCU at that point. Losses to Boise for example would help. 2. AU beats UGA and we don't play in the SECCG. We would need at least 3 of the following 4 to happen:

I'd rather play in the Sugar Bowl this year. I'd hate to play Oregon and risk losing, plus with the Sugar I can go out afterwards.

except the BCS only takes 2 schools max/conference. If Aub beats Ga and Bama, definitely have to root for them in the SECCG.

Why? I would believe that the Orange or whomever would rather a one loss LSu over a one loss Auburn. We would travel better, we would be ranked higher and they don't like to take a team that lost its championship game if they don't have to.
