What if I told you that LSU had a lower team ERA than Arizona did this year

I would tell you
1. Barely. 4.53 vs 4.60
2. Arizona plays in a very hitter friendly park
3. Yeskie hasn’t been at Arizona long. Hasn’t been abled to get his guys in and develop the full staff from the day they stepped on campus

LSU lost their Friday night guy and I assume faced tougher competition? IDK though.

No doubt about that. It’s apples to oranges. Yeskie did a hell of a job getting those guys to deliver a 4.6 ERA IMO

Agreed. I regret he is going to A&M instead of LSU. Hopefully LSU lands a great pitching coach.

How so? It’s bigger than Alex Box in most spots.

Dimensions are not the issue, the ball just carries better there. Chase Field in Arizona is one of the most hitter friendly ballparks in MLB as well. It’s not a small park either. It’s probably due to the altitude

Does anyone else think it's weird that he didn't join Jay Johnson?

Maybe, but it’s possible Jay knew he could get an even better PC. Just not enough info to know.

The park in arizona is not that much of a hitters park. Its bigger than the park at arizona st. Yes its negated by altitude during the day, but still, its like 360 to left field, 350 to rf, and over 400 to the gaps, but 392 to cf

JJ will bring in a good staff. He isn't paid to whiff out of the gate.

I could be wrong but I seem to remember reading that it was. I’ll see if I can find what I think I saw.

ETA: based on data from 2015-2018, Hi Corbett and Alex Box had the same Park Factor. I was incorrect

The altitude in Tucson is 2388 feet and Phoenix is 1086 feet. Altitude has nothing to do with anything there.

I was wrong. Thought I’d read that Hi Corbett was a hitters park, got it mixed up with another park
