And Campbell's end of the buyout at Iowa State is only $4 million. Which Woodward would pay in his sleep.

Right, $21m+ to the cookie monster, millions to assistants, than millions to get other assistants, plus $4m to buy out the other coach.

Again, LSU isn’t gonna have to pay $21 million to buy out Cookie Monster. Pay attention

Nobody is paying Orgeron $21 million. Don't be an idiot.

If Scott Woodward didn't already have enough dirt on Orgeron to fire him for cause when he agreed to that contract he would have given O a bonus, not an extension. Woodward isn't some dumbass babe in the woods like Alleva was, he's a snake who knows exactly what he's doing.

Exactly. The number of people who talk like Woodward is some idiot who doesn’t know
What he’s doing is mind boggling.

Orgeron is done folks.

Yeah, don't be an idiot because they have a contract.

That's working in bad faith and they will lose litigation. Its actually possibly fraud as well, depending on the details. That's not how any of this works.

He is a dumbass if that is the plan, which it isn't. <-----

LSU's next hire is going to be a MAJOR departure from the Orgeron/Kiffin scumbag coaching tree.

This will be the single most important moment in Scott Woodward's career. He will move heaven and earth to get a sure thing coach in here.

I'm saying Matt Campbell, because Matt Campbell is essentially a Jay Johnson hire for football. But if it isn't Campbell it's probably somebody even bigger rather than smaller.

And it definitely isn't Lane Kiffin.

Yep

As another poster said, it’s been an ongoing plan anyway. This team posting a disappointing year will just expedite things and there will be no fan backlash

The contract has a morals clause in it.

Orgeron has already violated the contract.

As for LSU working in bad faith, I hate to tell you but LSU does nothing but work in bad faith. They get away with it nonstop. Why do you think Jill Craft's entire law practice is based on suing LSU? She gets settlements for people they tossed aside in bad faith, but it's never the big bucks.

And it won't be for Orgeron, because Orgeron's hands aren't clean by any means.

That doesn't matter, if he did something... you fire for cause. You don't hold aces in your back pocket or manufacturer something.

That's not working in good faith.

Well, good luck... I see plenty of litigation over a $20-25m worth of contracts.

If they had cause, they should have dismissed him.... you can't just hold things until you don't like the contract.

Hell no. Give me lane kiffin over him any day of the week. No more CEO type coaches. Need someone that has a long track history of developing Heisman worthy qbs and innovative offenses.

Thee is a fine line between “good faith” and offering enough rope for someone to hang themselves/creating a paper trail to cover your arse.

No clue where this all lands, but lawyers LOVE to work in gray areas. That is how they create the billable hours!!

I like Lane Kiffin too, but he's in a groove at Ole Miss and is building that program up to where they'll be a player in the west.

Details. Mississippi is smaller in terms of population and money and it’s also split between two programs. There’s no way he would turn LSU down unless we ended up on probation.

Because USL has done reasonably well of late and some people's envy causes them to want to take their coach so USL sinks back to despair without regard for whether that coach is the best for the LSU job.

Some people can't stand to see USL do well so badly they are willing to sabotage LSU in order to have USL go back to their perceived rightful basement.
