Same. As an adult, I don't have a favorite player, but I was 10-11 yrs old and was also a tall, lanky kid and a RHP.
My dad took me to as many games as he could when Big Ben was pitching, and seeing a dude throw 100 back then in college was extremely unusual.

Mikie Mahtook.
Grew up with his cousin, a couple of years younger than him. The 2009 Natty is the first one I can clearly remember, though there's a picture of me and my dad watching the one in 2000 when I was 6 years old.

Jake Slaughter. I love the way he ran the bases.
Did you forget about him costing LSU a run in a 2-1 ball game during the 8th inning of the CWS final by sliding outside the bag directly into Florida's second baseman?

No. It was sarcasm. That play was precisely why I said that.

Ah, hell. I just read through the sarcasm and was thinking to myself, "is he serious?"
I honestly couldn't remember if Slaughter was a decent baserunner or not. I thought about it before posting.

Blair Barbier. Single handedly fired up the team with a homer in the 8th inning of a championship game. Stood at dug out and urged them on. And made a spectacular play at 3rd same game
