Wade had a GF that screwed with his head at least that is what his family always claims. The bigger issue was that LSU didn't even have a coach for them under GD. They literally went out and pretty much taught themselves. They would take practice kicking at trash cans.

talked to him a few years ago and he told me that the pressure of kicking at tiger stadium was so much more than kicking in san Francisco.

One of his missed kicks was in '86 that would've beaten Ole Miss.

WIthout a doubt Wade Richey

It wasn't a given that he would make extra points.

Andre Lafleur was much more inconsistent than Richey IMO

Danny Boyd came after Wade Richey and had far worse seasons.

The issue wasn't the kicker it was the absence of coaching.

Boyd kicked for 3 seasons with two 1-4 seasons and one 1-1 season when Corbello took over.

Thanks. I remember now. '87 was the year they played the game in Jackson and Sammy Martin ran wild on them.

Let's not get too cocky about this year's kickers. Did you see those two duck hooks for the first two extra points vs. SHS? That's not right. I hope it's not a chronic problem this year.

Chris Jackson is the appropriate answer to the OP.

Check out his stats here

He made a huge 40+ yarder against Arkansas to send the game to OT one time, but besides that he was all over the place as the "long range" FG kicker
